Have we thought of the possibility for DEF contamination?
When was the last DEF fillup?
Recently before I started road trip. But Ford said that contamination wouldn't shut down the engine...only that it would cause it to idle and no acceleration
before the trip...I take it that was several miles..I was thinking if the DEF was added to the fuel tank instead of the def tank.
Oh no... I'm very careful about that.
I baby this beast.
I bought it used in April and maintain it well. I don't even let fuel level drop below 1/4 tank
I can say with 90% certainty that he isn't a troll. Frustrated, beyond annoyed?? Absolutely as anybody else would be. Anyways....
Smitty your best bet is to tow the truck to a ford dealership close to your home instead of to your house so you can save money. Pretty safe to say that we have tried to diagnose your issue and at this point we are wasting time until you get the IDS hooked up to it at the dealership. I know atleast me, probably along with some other people want to know what the issue is. Please keep us updated on it.

Anyways....
Thank you.
And thanks for all your help and ideas. Gotta get a transport trailer and go get the truck home today. I will have to wait and see which dealership can handle the situation rapidly so that I can get back to enjoying my road trip.
Up until this point I can honestly say that I am amazed and in awe of how my truck has performed. .
Mileage is way better than my 2000 F250 V10 got pulling my trailer!
I bought this truck and I am the second owner and it only had 137K on it and as anybody knows.... It's pretty much a new truck yet.
The performance has been outstanding and although the rear end has been upgraded for more weight at the factory.... The ride is pretty smooth.
My only regret is that I don't have the knowledge on all this technology stuff to figure it out and get back out there 👍.
I appreciate everybody's input and now that I'm rested I'm gonna get trailer to haul it back here 👍
Good luck and please let us know what they find. It is very frustrating being broke down on the road. Just take a deep breath and try to relax. It will get fixed.

Depends on how much they want to fix it.
Terrible ya have to get a loan to fix your vehicle these days
I certainly feel and understand your frustration. My '03 6.0 broke down several times, with the entire family, all of which were 200+ miles from home.
No disrespect... What I don't understand is that you are willing to pay to have your truck towed back home, 350 miles, which at $2 per mile average would be $700 instead of having ford hook it up and diagnose it for $100? It just may be something simple like a $50 sensor that would get you back on the road.
