Thank you... You all have been a tremendous help.
I feel like an idiot with all this new technology on vehicles and this is the first time I ever had to get a loan to buy a vehicle.
So you can imagine the stress!
After some long thinking I called the fuel station back and advised them that I spoke with an attorney.
Boy did they hop to! They said that they monitor their stations and know how much fuel is in their tanks .
Here's what puzzles me... They said they don't have any water in their fuel yet they filled the tank on the 4th and another 3000 gallons on the 7th the morning after the night I bought my fuel.
They don't deny I bought fuel there but so far I'm the only one according to them that has a problem with their fuel.
The only problem I have is that I had new fuel filters put on on the 21st of October and had no problems with my truck until I bought fuel at the station!
Sure sounds like bad fuel to me 👍
Do you think they will let me see how they work on the truck?
When they start repairing the truck I'd feel more comfortable watching to make sure that they actually replace the entire fuel system and not just do the VCV and the fuel solenoid and charge me the $9k only to break down again only further down the road!
Anybody here ever deal with Ben Davis autoplex in Auburn Indiana?
Trying to help
Most people have had luck putting claim in to their auto insurance under comp. I recommend this before pay big buck for a attorney.
The truck could of have had water the fuel before your purchased it, and the failure could have caused this failure. Don't tell the insurance company this.
Things to that could be checked
1. Pull a fuel sample from your truck and have it tested. You could share that with the fuel station if you find water in fuel. Maybe the ford tech can see it when he drops the tank.
2. Fuel station have filters to remove water from diesel before fueling. It is common for under ground tank to collect water. When did they change their fuel filters? What was the under ground tank fuel level when you fueled up. If it was near empty it more likely that you would get water.
3. When you purchased the truck, Did they give a warranty of any kind? Many places will give a 1 year warranty for major failures.
I am sorry you are having this issues. After the repair is done I would look at getting some kind of extended warranty.
Got insurance claim going.
Manager for service department mad cuz I had them stop repairs.
He said that he's got the mechanic scheduled all week for the truck but insurance company said stop all work till the appraisal is complete. I explained to service manager that if they continue the repairs and insurance would have paid the bill but if they didn't stop bill would be out of pocket and I told him guess who's pocket that will be? They shut up and stopped working immediately...LOL
