It all depends on the following factors. % of bio, storage of bio, age of original bio before blending, turnover of bio fuel in tank.
Lower bio has a longer shelf life before problems. Bio also draws water from the air or temp change from fuel temp to air temp. It also cleans out your fuel tank of water, dirt, crud.

That's extremely helpful!!! Just reminded me that the reason I woke up was because it was getting really cold 👍
Can anyone tell me if in a fuel contamination kit.....is the VCV already on the HPFP? or is it even in the kit or is it a separate order?
Also I'm realizing that there are after market parts.
Can somebody tell me how long it takes to do a fuel contamination kit?
Also...do I have to do the whole thing or can I just replace the VCV HPFP and filters and clean the injectors?

It will come with the kit on the pump.

No way to really clean the injectors. If metal was present, you would be playing a very big game of Russian roulette by not replacing them. If one were to hang up, it's new motor time.

Ok... Thanks... Can someone point me to the contents of the fuel contamination kit?
Moved my truck to another dealership.
Amazed at the difference!
More competent and truck will be ready for traveling on Friday.
I will get the codes if I can. Service manager said it flashed multiple codes but I think the other dealership caused those.
99.9% sure is what the appraiser said as for insurance coverage.
Repairs are $650 cheaper at $8300 and I'll have to pay the difference for OEM parts because insurance wants to use aftermarket parts.
One of the major differences between the dealership is that this service manager advised me that he'd keep me in the loop with updates
Thanks 😊 was thinking about staying for Thanksgiving dinner 😋 since it's so close but I think I'll be tired and sore enough of this area till April 😊! So I'll probably head west for the winter 😎
You could probably fight the insurance company on aftermarket parts if you wanted to. When I was in that field we did it all the time.
Simple response - we will not warranty our work with aftermarket parts.
This thread read like a good mystery novel. smitty, you're one helluva patient guy... I know I would not have been as calm as you, and no way would I have sat in a Walmart parking lot for two days trying to sort it out.
Just posting to say nice work, and to mark my place so I get updates as this plays out to completion.

I completely agree with this. Fight them like heck for OEM. It's the only way and you don't have to settle. That's what you pay for.
