you have done amazing work on it.
what Procomp springs did you go with in the rear?
22210 on the front/ 22415 on the rear. Somewhere there is a thread with all the components that @pirate4x4_camo compiled. That is exactly what is in our Excursion. We haven't driven it a lot because the old tires were cracked and we're still finishing it. My wife just said she thinks it rides and handles really nice. I really appreciate him putting that package together for us. I'll let you know if that changes, but so far it's awesome.
what psi you got in the tires?
a guy I work with says the same thing about his falcon tires. He says that they are down right scary to drive in the rain.

We don't know yet, it was raining when she got home. The pressure gauge might be in her car which our daughter is borrowing while hers gets ball joints and a muffler. The other gauge is with me in the semi. The way she said they would break loose yet suggested she was having fun. I told her it might be a dog with the bigger tires. I'd be more surprised if she hadn't gotten some wheel spin out of it. LOL
So we aired the Falkens down to 50 PSI and took a short ride. They're quiet, handle well, and ride nice. This is my impression after only about 25 miles. We will try them at 40 PSI later.
After doing research on gears, I ordered 4.88 Dana SVL gears for the front with a Dana master install kit from Rock Auto. The rear gets 4.88 Revolution Gear &Axle (from Revolution) with an SKF master bearing kit from Rock Auto. I ordered a Detroit Truetrac for the rear off of Amazon.
What I found about gears lead me to go to Dana, Dana SVL, or Ford first if they have the gears you need. US Gear are made in Chicago and are great gears. They are expensive and are limited in applications. The Revolution gears are made in South Korea and have a good reputation. Motive gear gets some from Korea and the rest from China and other places. Yukon are from all over, but they have gotten much better about quality control. USA Standard are Yukons, either the same if you're lucky, or the ones that QC rejected if you're not. Luck of the draw I guess. Nitro is similar to Yukon but supposedly not as good of quality control. G2 is mostly the better Korean gears, but they don't have very good market coverage. Please do your own research, I don't claim this is true. It's just what I found and seemed credible. The REAL issue is set up of the gears. If set up properly, most gears will be quiet and dependable.
I paid extra to have this done to my rear gears, I hope it helps.

We're getting the little things done ☺️. We installed the rest of the interior trim, fixed a windshield washer leak, cleaned a bunch of ground wires, adjusted the bumper, and tried to get the EX to sit level. I loosened up the springs and took it for a ride. It's better, but the left side is still higher than the right. Anyhow, on to some pictures..... My wife was kind enough to polish the hub caps 🙂 She did a great job and put some tire dressing on too😎

The new rubber looks excellent!
IMO 4.88 is a little too short for 35s, but to each his own. I think 4.56 suits them better, or 4.30 if you're on the highway a lot. You'll love the TrueTrac. Have you considered an E-locker or ARB for the front? I love being able to lock that axle up and give mud the finger.

Most of the time we are in 55 MPH . I think they'll be OK when we go on trips. My thought was if they really seem short, I'll buy new rims and 36 or 37 inch tires next year. I haven't looked at front axle lockers yet, other than knowing they don't make a Truetrac for the Dana 50. If I decide I want something up front I'll take a look at them or contemplate a Dana 60 with a Truetrac.

Ahh, that makes a difference. Around me, the highways are 75-80, so it's not a great match-up. Now I work so close to home it's irrelevant.
A leaf sprung 60 swap isn't too difficult, especially considering the can-do mentality you and the missus take to your ride. Use www.car-part.com and find the front axle of a 01-04 F250 or SRW F350. Or if you're feeling squirrelly, there's always the '05 swap
Edit: or you can pick up a set of 05-07 axles front and rear, get them setup with the new gears and traction adder, then do the swap with minimal downtime. You'd also want a few other pieces, but then you'd have a helluva machine

Yes, if we were on 75-80 freeways a lot, I wouldn't have went with the 4.88s. The leaf sprung Dana 60 with LSD/ locker interests me. Down the road, if I acquire a rust free Excursion, the coil set up makes more sense to me. What other pieces do I need? One of my daughters wants to try off roading and this is our starter vehicle.

@Lance Helmert auburn Makes an electric limited slip to full locker for the Dana 50. So in normal use it’s a clutch driven limited slip, with the flip of a switch it fully locks.
also the 2011+ factory e-locker will fit in our older axles. All you have to do is grind the tab off the tone ring for it to fit on the locker. 2011+ 10.5 axles don’t use the tone ring so there is no place for the tab.

That's interesting, I'll look into that. Thank you

I'm out on errands with the ball 'n chain, so I don't have the liberty to look up all the exact details, but if my memory serves me correct, it's the axles (which typically come with the radius arms), the radius arm brackets, upper coil buckets, track bar bracket, steering box, master cylinder, and I know there's a few other pieces escaping my mind at the moment.
I'll say this, having done the 60 swap on mine: for as much as you tear it down in the first place, going to the coils isn't a whole lot more work. The only pisser is buying the extra parts. If I had to do mine all over again, I'd spring for the coil setup.
Also, the 05-07 rear axle will need an ABS tone ring, be it from your original or from elsewhere.

the tone ring was used up through 2008 axles I believe through 2010 axle had the tone ring.
here is a picture of an 07 axle with speed/abs sensor in place.
I stole that picture from this thread on here. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...-thread-3.html
lots of great information on putting coil spring set up and rear axle swap.
here is a video showing the rear locker install
