In the 1990's, Ford, in concert with International, had a few field service trainers who went from dealership to dealership training dealership service technicians on diesels. This mobile training / certification effort was stepped up in the latter half of the decade, as the Powerstroke Direct Injection was introduced and gained traction, dominating the market. With the release of the 99 up SuperDuty in early 1998, the traveling trainers really got busy, making the rounds again with the 99.5 update. A friend of mine was one of these trainers. And as his career came to a close in 2001, the scan tool equipment he brought with him to every Ford dealership was NOT the Rotunda / Hickok New Generation Star Tester. It was actually the Snap On MT2500, of the exact generation as what you just received in the mail. Provided that you have the right modules, that tool should do well with your Excursion.

Thank you. And I thought I had my vehicle specs in my signature, but I'm not seeing it on my phone. Maybe I turned it off somehow or that only shows up on the PC. I'll have to look at that later. Anyhow I'm hoping I can adjust the speedometer with it next week. Hopefully in a month or two I can get a set of 4:56s in it.
I can see your signature. I just can't seem to see my way out of a paper bag sometimes. Hiding in plain site.
DO NOT put 315 tires on a gas engine Excursion with 3.73 gears. If you want to get 4.56 gears, OK. If you want to get 4.30 gears, maybe, maybe not. But 3.73... you will regret.

I can't see my signature on my phone, but I see it on my laptop.
The 315s go on Wednesday, so I'll be an unhappy camper until I get the gears changed. I was going to run out the 265s but one has a crack around the tire in the sidewall. We have a wedding that's a 250 mile ride in 2 weeks. I might as well get the tires I want. It will encourage me to get the gears sooner. LOL
You can see the driver's side is taller. I'll try loosening the eye bolts before I get a replacement spring. Hopefully next weekend. It's not finished, but it's really close! Tires Wednesday, tweek the tail pipe hopefully yet this week. I fixed the lights and cruise control. The door seals and hinges are installed. I can't get the washer pump to work. The relays click and the pump works, but power isn't getting from the relays to the pump.🤔Any thoughts on that? I have to sand and recoat 2 of the fender flares before installing them. I can't wait to see it with the bigger tires, 😎
Just a thought on the height difference and I don't know if it would even do this but did you replace the track bar also or is it the stock one? The other thought is that one of the springs was mislabeled. When ups delivered my springs from Amazon there was no manufacturer stickers or stamps left on my springs. They rubbed off in transport and I had to piece together what was left for front vs rear based parts of stickers that were left and visually matching up the springs that looked alike. Maybe the seller sent you the next taller spring?

They both are labeled 22210, but they shipped from 2 different locations. Maybe one has the wrong label? It has an adjustable track bar. I'll grab my phone and post pics of the alignment sheets. I have a question about the axle alignment anyway.
This is the part that has me concerned. I'm picturing a styrofoam cup with the big end on the left. Between both axles that's almost 3/4 of an inch. We'll see, but I think it will want to drift to the right. This I'm happy with. I wanted to be in the 5 1/2 to 6 1/2 degree range on caster. From what I've seen, if they aren't identical, you want more on the passenger side. I bought this so I can center the laser line on the axle and then be able to measure from the line to the axle center so I know how far it moved.
The leaf spring wasn't installed backwards was it?
I'm pretty sure they are in the same way, I'll check this weekend. I looked pretty closely when I put the axle shims on, but I've had brain farts before.....
