I ordered all the silicone boots and t-bolt clamps for my IC piping and intake. What I decided to do was order the boots for the angles I need, and use straight pieces of 3" pipe between the boots rather than weld a bunch different angles of pipe together. I will be using 30*, 60*, and 90* boots for the IC, and 45* boots for the intake. All the boots and clamps for my IC and intake both were $275. Building the IC piping this way will be so fast and easy, and I think it will look really good too. I had mentioned painting the valve covers, but I'm not going to now. I'm just gonna leave them black. All the boots I ordered are black, and I will paint the IC pipes silver. I wanted to get all the IC boots in red, but they didn't have them all in red. Black was the only color I could get all the different angles in, so I guess black will do . While I'm waiting for that stuff to get here, I am going to get the e-fuel going and try to decide for sure about putting v-band flanges in the up pipes. I am leaning more toward my original plan of putting them in there, so if I decide for sure to do it, I will have to order those. Unless a deal goes through this week on making some extra cash, I may have to hold out on doing the IH water pump right now. As much as I would like to do it now while I have the rad out and the coolant drained, I may not have the money. So I have my finger crossed this deal works out so I can get the water pump ordered.
I plan on welding something on the ends of the pipes to help keep from blowing the boots off. The only 90* boot in the whole IC system will be coming off the turbo. The rest will be 60* and 30* angle boots, and the two straights on the plenums. I'm using the 90* angle in the old 3" down pipe to build my intake Y. Is the best place for the boost sensor and the Map tube in the hot side, or in the Y ?
I'm not too fond of the idea of running that many boots. I'm one of those guys that would rather eliminate a fail point or leak point than add more if I can help it. Even if adding more is easier. I went to a local junkyard and got two sets of SD IC pipes a few weeks ago for an IC install and only spent $200. That came with the factory Ford boots and clamps..
My original thought on building my own IC piping was to buy some 45* and 90* 3" bends of pipe and weld it all together, but after looking at a site that Travis sent me a link to, I can buy all the silicone boots with different angles, and enough t-bolt clamps from them cheaper than I can buy just the pipe bends. I could use the different angle boots and then between each boot use scrap straight pieces of 3" pipe cut to length and weld the bump on the ends to keep the boots from blowing off. Like I said, it would cost more to buy just the pipe bends to weld together to make solid one piece pipes, plus I'd still have to buy at least four boots and clamps for those. Unless someone has a reason why this won't work, this is the route I'm gonna take on building my IC piping.
I posted this yesterday morning and nobody said anything, so I ordered the stuff this evening......too late now. I guess if I have problems with it, I'll build pipes later

Mine came from Irate with the boost & map in the Y. Darin changed his to the hot side. I ran out of time last spring but I'm going to switch them over when I pull things apart to get my up pipes out of there.

My phone didn't ring. I'm going to be spending less and less time here. I'm starting a new job here pretty soon and I've been so busy looking for trucks I won't be around as much until everything settles down and the new truck is set up.
I should have never given you those links!!! You told me that you were just getting an intake pipe!! Boots with sharp bends generally have to be quite a bit stronger to hold together than a straight boot from what I've seen.
Bill I can talk to my cousin at the salvage yard to see if he has any SD pipes. If he does I can most likely get then free
Keep that in mind, I may need to do that. Thanks bud.

LOL!!! It's all your fault damit! LOL!! Actually I did some reading on that sight and it said that building IC systems out of more silicone than pipe is becoming more popular, so I figured I'd try it. If I bought the pipe bends and boots needed to do with all pipe, it would cost the same or more from the prices I was getting. I was gonna text you, but I figured I been bothering you enough lately and you were bout sick of me! LOL!
