Hey Bill

How long have you had the hernia???

Has the doctor said anything about mesh???

where is the issue at???

The reason I am asking I had one years ago and let it go for about 5 yrs. Once it got to the point of hurting me most of the time I had surgery with a mesh implant..

Now I am the biggest WOO WOO you ever will meet......I cried and blew snot bubbles the size of soft ball for close to 2 weeks before I could get off the couch...They did use 17 staples to close up where they cut me

They cut me where the blow out was and way beyond. Then flayed the belly muscles and placed a section of mesh about the size of your 2 hands....Then sewed the inter section of muscle to the mesh.....after that they sewed the outer layer muscle to the mesh then finished with the staple gun...

If you think you may have a hernia get it fixed ASAP

Good luck Bill.....I am sure you are way tougher man than me.

It will tell you when you can get up and start moving around

Reminds me of when I got my wisdom teeth done a few months back lol. I didn't wanan talk, eat, or even breathe for 2 days. But that was 2 days, not 2 weeks lol.

Heck, I went to work a few hours after getting it done tho lol. Needless to say, I was popping some oxycodons when I walked in the door that night!

I've had the one down low for a couple years maybe, but the one at my belly button I have had for years. They are doing the mesh on both of them, and also cutting a cyst out of the back of my neck all at the same time time! I asked the doctor if they were gonna put me one a rotisserie! LOL!
And Joey....I'm not that tough. My wife says I'm the biggest baby she's ever seen when I get sick or hurt. But what she doesn't know is that I just do that to get some pity lovin'.....

Thanks buddy! I'll be fine. When this is done and I'm back to normal (and I use that term loosely ), I hope to have the truck put back together in a couple weeks.

Hope all goes well with the surgery. You don't want to be blowing any gaskets when you work on your OBS!!! Lemme know if you need anything. I'm not that far away but I might break down getting there!

Sneezing, coughing, hic-ups, blowing nose and laughing is NOT allowed for the first 3 days...

Crying, blowing snot bubbles and pillow hugging are 100% ALLOWED

Ya, take care Bill. You'll be on here more than ever for a couple weeks trying to cure boredom. The more you're on here reading, the more you'll want to do to your truck! Like was said before, don't rush it, its not worth it.

Instead of the mesh, I wonder what they used 61 years ago? When I was two I had a hernia operation on my groin, still have a three inch scare.
