I think Bill needs to quit his day job, and open up a powerstroke shop. After you tackle this project, you should start rebuilding injectors.

Thanks guys. I may have to do that LOL! There were only three of us left in the shop where I work, and they laid one off today, and cut the other two of us back to 4 days a week. They said it shouldn't be for long. Hopefully just until the end of the year at the longest.
I was gonna section the up pipes with v-band connectors up by the collector, but I think I will just do them all in one piece now.
Iv gotta question. If I ever decide to do a s366 on mine (which will more than likely happen... someday) couldn't you move the turbo forward some and rotate it so the cool side blows directly into the manifold? Or is there a reason to keep it back some? I think this would be worth a few extra ponies since the air wouldn't have to travel as far and turn as much lol.
On my IDI, they have the turbo mounted somewhat backwards. The air coming through the intake has to make a turn that's somewhere between 90-180* lol. That's a pretty big turn
Maybe I think too much lol
The only reason you would do a bigger turbo would be if you have bigger injectors, and with bigger injectors you are going to have higher EGTs, so you would want an IC to lower EGTs, so the turbo would be piped to the IC and not straight to the manifolds.

Sorry to hear this, Bill. One fully it's July temporary and toy can find enough (paying) side work to keep you going.
Got the up pipes fitted and tacked together tonight. I didn't use as much of the stock pipes as I thought, but I had the combo bends that I bought, so it worked out pretty good. The funny looking crook in the pass. side pipe is my attempt at leaving enough room for the 3 1/2" down pipe. I'll take them off the engine on the stand and put them in the truck tomorrow before I weld them up solid to be sure they fit.
That's all I got done tonight. I put this together for my grandson's birthday this weekend..........
That sure is neat Bill. I'm glad someone figured out how to do this on a cheaper scale. I know it's only been a year ago, but it seems like Jake had to dent in one of the up pipes for some reason. Darin or Glenn, do you guys remember why it had to be dented in? I'm just wondering if Bill will have to do the same thing.

I also don't remember any denting it in. I do know mine split on top of the auto on the drivers side. Its laying on the edge that angles down after the flat top section of the trans. The trans is covered in soot. I bet Bill's up pipes are tougher then that!!
It sure is looking good! If you want...ill take the vbands off your hands for mine.
LOL! I didn't order the v-bands. There was some money from selling some parts that I was counting on, but I guess that deal has fell through because I haven't heard from the guy, so I'm running out of $$$. I think it would be hard to get one on the pass side pipe any way. I'l just make the collector and pipes one piece and be done with it. Maybe later when I'm bored and don't have anything to do (LOL) I can pull it out and add those in.

Was it the down pipe that was dented?

Looking real good Bill! You aren't far away from mounting that thing!
