E40D Problems
All,
Does anyone have a copy of the E40D zip file? I'm considering rebuilding the transmission to save some money and would like to investigate further before deciding. My e-mail is richardcullum@att.net. By the way I found a remanufactured E40D for $959 from Propower, Inc. out of Brooksville Florida. Does anyone know anything about them?

I am and always have been skeptical of cut rate Reman's. I know a guy that bought a 302 short block from Advance Auto.It had different sized rod journals,one being .040 under and the rods were from different engines.It had 3 number 8's as an example.The place you mention may be fine but just proceed with caution. Also I have heard horror stories on Jasper and a few others as well. Good luck however you decide to proceed.

That seems like a good price. Did you get a new torque converter with that. The first guy I went to gave me a price of $700.00 just for labor and that was with me bringing the trans. to him. Then add parts. Seemed a little high to me. Did your price include the whole job? Removal and install?

Iam new to this site and find it very informative. I see you have a file pertaining to rebuilding the E40D. Would I be able to get a copy of this from you as I have to rebuild mine.

i'd appreciate a copy of the file too if possible. thanks. linckeil@hotmail.com there has to be a way to post this file online so you don't have people bugging you for an email. i'm sure someone more computer savy than myself can tell you how to do it.
