We'll have to start referring to the original Josh as "Josh Classic" and the new Josh as "Josh 2.0". He was a guy I met thru the "67-79 Ford Trucks of NC" facebook page when I put up an ad to sell my old wheels. He's got an old 72 with a 460 and air conditioning
With that kind of talk you just got demoted to Josh #2.
Dang it, I always used to hate getting dropped off at the pool...

Thank you OLD John... I can roll with Classic... though I feel like I'd have to now fill that title with a Model T truck in the shop... or a dream Model TT Stake bed...
Old John has a nice ring to it. Or maybe vintage John.
That 72 was pretty cool. Every option available in 72 was on it. And he wants to strip the trim pieces off of it. I say keep them. It looks period correct.

Agree. Keep them. It'll just get harder and harder to find an un-molested classic. I prefer un-molested to Joe Shade Tree job of used cars.
Alright.. so Food. Who's Hungry? Event or Dinner? Got a couple of local car shows on the horizon... Would be great to show up in force and support Old John. .

I got that t-shirt that says "1969, All Original Parts". Could be "Original John" instead of Old John? Hahahaha
The Clayton show this coming weekend has the same thing as last year, BBQ plates from the BBQ cookoff being sold starting at lunchtime. My club distanced ourselves from it though because they took so long to deliver, and was kinda of a cluster****. Too many people complained to us because they thought we were involved with it. This year we're just hanging up a sign that says "if you want a BBQ plate text this number"
Let me see if this event interests anyone. Saturday the 30th of September. This is a motorcycle & classic car cruise, that ends with a BBQ lunch. Doesn't say who provides the BBQ though. $8 for the BBQ lunch or $20 to do the cruise and BBQ lunch is provided. Here is what the organizer send me to describe the event:
Registration for riders begins at 9:30 am. The ride will start at 11:00. The ride is approximately 90 miles and will be escorted by the Sampson County Sheriff Department. We will all cruise together.
Riders will depart from the Plain View Fire Department, 5041 Plain View Hwy, Dunn NC, travel Hwy 242 South; travel through Salemburg, Roseboro and turn onto Hwy 701 in Garland; travel into Clinton and stop for a break where riders can fuel up, get drinks, snacks, take a restroom break and take photos. After the break, riders will travel Hwy 421 and merge onto the 701 Hwy bypass; take Hwy 701 North to Newton Grove and go around the traffic circle to Hwy 13 to Spivey's Corner; get back on 421 Hwy to travel back to the Fire Department for lunch, raffles, and music.
Riders will receive an armband (meal pass), raffle ticket and Furbaby Rescue swag bag at registration. Each rider/passenger will be required to sign a waiver.
This is the first event of this kind that we have organized and are hoping for a huge success. I would love to make this an annual event and expand it even more.
I hope that your club will be able to join us. Please let me know if you have any additional questions.
Next weekend I'm either going to be at Marty's doing a pre-cookout smoke to check out the smoker we're going to use at Uwharrie, or down at the farm. I've got to get cash to my buddy for the trailer metal to fix that tongue, that's screwed up. Plus, I've been offered lesson from a retired military guy that teaches SF when they need help getting better. Figures it's best to start me now before I learn the bad habits.
But im good this week. I'm sure Marty will be good if anyone wants to join us for smoking meat at his place, either this weekend or next.
If if it's not a lot of interest maybe the BBQ lab or City or something easy.
Sorry for the loss of contact but it has been hectic here lately for me. when we figure out the where and when let me know. if all goes well I can make it this month.

Heck yeah, I've been learning last weekend with my new camera and the GoPro. Posted a few pics and a video on Facebook. How on earth are we not friends on there yet? Lol. I got one more video but it will take forever to upload. Might start on that tonight.
