Swapping radiators is simple Gary.
Brass ones can be easily soldered.

Yep, swapping is easy. But, I'm not sure I want to just solder this one. I'm going to look around and see if we still have a real radiator shop. This is Dad's original 4-core and it might do quite well if it were boiled out and repaired where it needs it. But, if not then I'll find another all-aluminum one for Dad's when the time comes. Something big.

You'll definitely be making more heat than stock.
Maybe it would be good to fix it.
It might be the only part of "Dad's Truck" left by the time you're done.

You and my wife! Janey says I need to pick one bolt from the original truck and put it on the key chain.

You said you didn't have any dirty, rusty bolts left....
Do it
for her .
She puts up with all this silliness.

Good idea. So, should I powder coat it or leave it rusty? Bed bolt or valve cover?

Use a valve cover bolt.
You don't want all that weight on your lock cylinder.
It's just not the same if you prep and finish it.
I would give it a quick shot of clear lacquer so it doesn't rub off on the pristine interior.
I think it will be a good reminder of just how far you will have taken this project!

I do think that's a good idea, but I'm not going to tell her until the project is to the point I'm using the key. Thanks!
As for the lock, this isn't a GM! But, I fully agree and was kidding about the bed bolt.

My keychain looks like I'm a janitor or a jailer.
I've worn out my cylinder before.
Eh... they are $10 to replace.

I dislike anything more on the key chain than the essentials. Rusty's has his two keys, a shop key, and a house key. What I really like is the key/transmitter combo as they fit in the watch pocket of my jeans.

I do it to a Ford, Dodge, and a Mazda pickup. My dad has the same amount of keys, the Dodge and Mazda still have their original cylinder locks lol.

We have one radiator shop left in Tulsa. It's on Admiral and just West of Delaware.
