We want to stay local around here somewhere. (Sparta, Ozark) It looks like the land in Tennessee is going to be a vacation retreat for now. Maybe build a cabin up there at some point. Maybe just sell it and use the money for a place around here. The economy is worse than bad over there. At least here, I have some opportunity. We'll see what the year brings.
hey alan good news on being able to steer the old truck with one finger... have you ever looked into ozark county.. the land here is cheap and so are the taxes... plus look at the good neighbor you could have...
Happy New Year y'all...guess I was tired last night, sleep from 1945-ish until 1030 this morning. Looks like I'm going to have to come up with something to occupy my time since there aren't many trains moving today.

Hey! That's an idea...maybe it'll keep folks from knocking on the door when I'm trying to sleep (night trips are the pits without sleep).

The last rental we had was a HHR...bright red of course. Every time you started the car the radio would start playing circus music. Your rental can't be that bad...could it??

That's why I need to stay around here. ...more centrally located for everyone!
I drove a rental HHR from Phoenix to Yuma, pretty much the worst rental car in the world.
Alan Its a great day to to own versus pay rent, might as well make YOUR house payment instead of the landlords. Except when the water heater ot a/c unit goes out.
I live out in the sticks but I really doubt I could rent a house in town for what my payment is. Of course there is insurance and taxes and stuff that needs repair but with the lower interest rates now days it is a good time to be in the market.

That's something my wife & I have been talking about for a couple of months. Refinance or buy a new house....either will wipe out what equity we've got in our current home. What's stopping me on the "buy new home" option is I hate to move...haven't in 12 years and I like it that way. But the current home isn't quite big enough for all four of us (two bedrooms)...and I would like to have a shop/garage (man-ville) that isn't attached to the house (she-land).
I know the feeling, I will never move due to me having way to much stuff and a unattached man cave.
I have a fenced in lot called the "Ford yard" it has a part or two in it, lol.
That's like saying the Empire State Building has a few floors in it.
I changed the fuel filter in the '97 and put 7 gallons of fresh fuel in it. It runs better, but it says it has a sensor with no feedback. I have a pig tale that I have no idea where it plugs in. I'll have to do some more research on where it supposed to go.
