Well, Thursday is here & just 1 more day closer to the weekend!
Don't you hate it when your excited about something & it seems like time is moving so slow?
I have a couple boxes showing up this week. I picked up a new conversion cylinder for my Ruger Old Army black powder revolvers so that I can shoot them with 45LC ammo.
Curious about how this works. That black powder pistol originally had no CA waiting period or registration. Is that correct? I know BP guns are not restricted, but the Ruger might be an exception. Now you have turned it into a modern firearm with a modern cartridge cylinder. Were there any restrictions on purchasing the cylinder?

Nope...the cylinder is just a piece and cannot actually fire a round on its own so is not required to be registered. I would not suggest transporting the Revolver with the conversion cylinder in it in case you get pulled over, but the two separate from each other is perfectly legal. Once the conversion cylinder is in the revolver, technically it is a "firearm", but nothing really to worry about. Just keep the regular BP cylinder in it unless it is actually being fired. Even though it is a modern BP revolver, the fact that it is BP means it is not considered a firearm and is cash and carry in CA.
