We get to help our neighbors pack/move to thier new house this weekend.
I'm thinking an epideral is sounding pretty good about now! Atleast there's free beer & food.
Here is my staging area for my coolant flush. So far I have the water (-1 broken on the way home..) 195* thermostat, and a dual alternator radiator hose. I'm gonna go get the ELC tomorrow if they are open or Monday. Also going to order a new thermostat housing and 203* thermostat.
Ok so FTE is being screwy lol every time I post a response to JCP is goes above his post.... his post is at 7:30PM but the FTE clock is not to 7:30 yet. So it keeps putting my posts before his

Trey are you planning on running just straight distilled water? I hope not! It will destroy the water pump impeller bearing. You need either coolant mix, or A couple of bottles of water wetter. I did the distilled water with the watter wetter, but I developed a lot more block rust that way, so I swapped back to the 50/50 mix with watter wetter! A great way to get rid of the rust and Calcium in the block and radiator, is to put liquid cascade detergent in your coolant and run the engine til it get's hot.... shut it off.... then let it sit for 3-4 hours, and then flush it! It is amazing what that will get out of the system!
HEY! It worked haha for what its worth, the FTE clock (found at the bottom of the page) is now 6 mins slow.

No the distilled water is part of the flush. You run tap water from a hose to flush out the block, then you run the distilled water to get all the impurities from the tap water out. Then in goes ELC (Extended Life Coolant) which is special coolant for these motors. A normal bottle of Prestone wont work on these motors.
Yeah I am aware of the ELC just don't spin your water pump without coolant or Watter wetter! No Bueno! Just wanted to make sure! Whew!!! You're good to go!
I'm contemplating getting a new pump. They are on sale at Riffraff.

About to, hopefully. Thunderstorms yesterday afternoon and a 30% chance today, so we'll see how much racing we get in. We've got the track for tomorrow too so the worst thing would be we get put off for a day like we did last year.
