Thought you guys would enjoy this.
I've never seen them stacked this high. I scraped them off and the bottom one was indeed 1974, so 30 years worth.
I showed that pic to my wife. She totally understood the need to stack 'em like that - but didn't want to keep a vehicle that long (ah, math question, you still livin' in 2004?)... sooo I keep her wheelin' in newish honda's, save the fun wheels for me.
Put that stack on E-bay and see what you can get.
Driving to Gallup tomorrow, Dodge on Thursday and in to Topeka on Friday.
Going up 54 or 56? I've never done 56, but I've heard it's a better road and a bit faster. Lotsa' little speed-trap towns along 54, and the next time I need to go to K.C., I'm just going north out of Dalhart instead of going through Guymon.
It was a great "cut-off" in its day, but I'm with you on that one, it's slow!
Give us a comparison when you get back!
Don't forget to pay your respects to Tucumcari Station!

I visited the worlds largest hand dug well in Greensburg, KS in 1995. I suppose it survived the tornado? Oklahoma Panhandle State U always impressed me in such a small town.
