"Chief Dan Matthews" (Broderick Crawford) drove a Buick in the TV show Highway Patrol in 1955/56.
In 1954, both the TV show and the CHP drove Oldsmobile's (same GM C body as the Buick), but the dealer that sold Olds' to the CHP in 1954 was outbid by a Buick dealer.
I don't recall the name of the Buick dealer that sold the CHP these cars, but I do recall the name of the Olds dealer...considering that my family owned it.
What the heck is that piped into the front bumper? Remote control water canon? Thus the brush tubes fend off wayward shrubbery and carry PhostrEx? Edit, that might zap the driver (ammonium phosphates).
