There are 4, built on F450 chassis. The regular ambulances are built on a GMC chassis.

 

56 ford f600 ex city of San Jose hose wagon, saved from the crusher in 1995.. updated the drivetrain in 2008 with a 6bt Cummins, 6x4 trans, Dana 80 3.31ratio. I drive it every chance I get.

Whoa, cool truck.

 

That cross/star combo took a little bit of convincing to get put on the truck, the old school guys still aren't a fan of us having to run EMS.

 

I figured as much. There is a lot of Fire-EMS tension... But I wish they would commingle a little better. Its better for the people. Thats why I like the matlese cross/star of life combo

 

And great for off-roading
