The first two are of my local FD's Hazmat truck.
The final three are from some volunteer department in the mountains of South Carolina.
I thought San Diego County did not have a County Fire Dept?
San Diego County Fire is operated by CalFire. Its sort of like a baby dept of CalFire. The state says "We will give you $XXX,XXX per year to help you to run a county dept, or we will do it for you. You choose."
International 4900 powered by a T466E with an Allison 6 Speed automatic. Seats 18, 2 up front 16 in the back. Carries all kind of tools and enough supplies to keep all men alive for 2 days. It is a fully self-sufficient machine.
I love those old sirens
My dad was telling me that 'back in the day' on the older engines that have those old sirens, there was a button you would push to wind them back up to their loudest point, but when you did that they would draw so much current the emergency lights would dim and the radio would turn off.
We have a guy here in the Ventura area who has an old 50's CHP car that he has restored, its pretty cool.
Maybe SOMEONE will post them for me.
