Its for rescue situations. The other raptor I posted is owned by CAL FIRE and is used in the forest areas for rescue. I could defiantly see a home for raptors in rescue scenarios. BLM owns a lot of land where people (legally) go off roading in trucks, quads, and dirt bikes. They send a truck in to find the guys so they can land a helicopter. Up till now they have usually been superduties.
I agree, I dont think everyone need to have one. But there are some areas, mostly OHV areas, that would benefit from one.
No wonder our taxes are so damned high!!! Do they really need a Raptor?!? I think NOT. What a bunch of BS.
I gotta agree. Nothin' wrong with a good used F250, plenty capable off road and able to go 500K with good maintenance. We do it, why not the Gov't? It's a losing battle Bill, the Chips get the latest fast cars, why not the BLM? I only hope there is a heck of a fleet discount.
Ya well ive looked into them b4 and i dont have the money right now...
After my 74 Highboy gets done, i plan on getting a 74-75 supercab and making it into a 79 (make it look like the 79, change grill and trim). Going to get a big lift and put 37" tires on it
Up in NorCal there are more than one or two people that have issues with Cal Fire and the way they secure their budget, not to mention the way the budget is spent, not to mention their fire prevention/fighting tactics. And I'm not saying that I'm not in agreement with the detractors while at the same time diggin the machinery.
BUT, fire trucks, the piece of machinery are freakin cool.
