VIN decode doesn't tell you very much.

F70 = F700.

E = 361 2V FT engine.

V = Kentucky Truck Assembly Plant.

L70576 = 1971.

Post all the codes from the Warranty Plate, located on the left door face below the latch.

Shifter for Clark 285-V31

I have a 1970 Ford Truck, VIN# F61ECH51646 with a 5-speed clark 285 transmission. The ball at the bottom of the shifter has been removed and welded numerous times after it becomes stuck in a gear and I am looking to see if anyone carries this part. Thanks

If you need parts, obsolete or not, I can look up the numbers, then search for them on two online websites to see if anyone has them. Then will post the part numbers, sources that have them.

If the parts are still available, I will list the MSRP and the FTE member discount price offered by sponsor PARTSGUYED.COM (Ed Olson, parts manager of Horizon Ford in Seattle WA).

I've been doing this jazz on FTE since 11/04/2006. And, btw: One of the parts locator sites is only accessible to FoMoCo Dealers.
I'm looking for a slave cylinder for a 1973 Ford C750. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you Number Dummy for all the info. I did find one at UltraRev and they shipped it today. I'm hoping it is the right one but will definitely keep your information in case I need it. Thanks again

1967/79 all FoMoCo vehicles: If you contact martiauto.com, you can order a copy of your trucks original build sheet, window sticker and etc. All Marti needs is the VIN and some buckaroo's.

Info is from the original FoMoCo records that Marti acquired in the late 1980's when he learned that FoMoCo was going to THROW THEM AWAY!

The Device to which you may be referring is a power supply with which to supply the B+ 90 Volts to the Old motorloa Tube radios? I don't recall seeing one on my Dad's Desoto, but that may have been too cheap a car to have one. Later versions just put it inside the radio chassis. It was the early version of a DC-AC converter switching power supply, if you know what those things are..

Serial # (VIN): F35J9G30560 / date: f35j / trans: 25h / axle: f 08 / MAX GVW LBS: 9800.
VIN is OK, you eliminated some of the codes, mixed up some of the others stamped on the Rating Plate.

F35 = F350.

J = 223 1V I-6.

9 = 1959.

G = Chicago IL Assembly Plant.

30560 = 1959 Numerical Sequence of Assembly, the trucks specific serial number.

RATING PLATE:

WHEELBASE: Omitted.

COLOR: Omitted.

MODEL code: F35J = F350.

DATE: 25H = Assembled August (H) 25, 1959.

TRANS: F = Borg Warner T-98 4 Speed Manual.

AXLE: 08 = Timken model B140 / 5.83-1.

9,800 lbs. Gross Vehicle Weight Rating.

Bill, I'm having trouble figuring out the full part number (particularly the suffix) for my twin bladed sun visors in my 2000 Lariat with Medium Parchment, Interior Trim Code 8H.

I've learned the basic is 04104, and more often than not I've seen an expanded basic of 2504104. But as far as the suffix goes, I'm at a loss.

What makes this a not so straight forward solution (using a VIN) is that I already upgraded my sun visors. The chassis cab Lariats were not illuminated in 2000, so I swapped in the illuminated versions from an F-250 Lariat that was either a 2001 or 2002 model year. I forgot which of those years exactly, but the color matched the existing headliner and previous visors perfectly.

All I really need is the plastic hinge for the secondary (smaller) blade. Mine fractured. I imagine that the hinge isn't available separately, so I'm willing to get a whole new blade, or whole new pair of blades, but without the full part number, it is hard to verify if the part will work.

Complicating matters is that Ford changed the way the secondary visor is hinged at some point beyond 2005. Looking at the parts explosion diagrams of 1999-2004 model years, the basic 04104 points to both the primary and secondary blades together, even though on the truck they mount and remove separately. In fact, my secondary blade fell down, leaving the primary blade in place, working perfectly.

As always, thank you for being here and helping us keep our Fords together with genuine Ford parts. Any clues you can provide on the color coding inherent in the suffix of these cloth Lariat trim level sun visors would be greatly appreciated!

2000 F150:

YL3Z-1504104-AAB .. Right Medium Parchment Visor Assy-Cloth with Covered Mirror.

YL3Z-1504105-AAB .. Left Medium Parchment Visor Assy-Cloth with Covered Mirror.

The flowing may be the secondary visors (if so equipped), parts catalog doesn't say.

YL3Z-1504104-BAA .. Right Medium Parchment Visor-Cloth with non Covered Mirror.

YL3Z-1504105-BAA .. Left Medium Parchment Visor-Cloth with non Covered Mirror.

Bill, Thank you!

However, this is totally my fault, because I failed to specifically mention that I have a Super Duty, not an F150. I did say that I had a "chassis cab", and there are no 150 chassis cabs, and that I transferred visors from an F-250 that were a perfect match, but it would have been a lot clearer if I had said 550, or Super Duty. Sorry about that! I am guessing that 150 visors will not work in the 250-550.

The first clue that the part numbers you found above wouldn't apply to me was the "L3" in the prefix, instead of "C3". The second clue was the "15" in front of the basic, instead of "25".

I wonder if the AAB suffix would be Medium Parchement cloth with covered mirror in the Super Duty versions?

Something like YC3Z-2504104-AAB?

Also, my medium parchment cloth covered visors have a mirror that is Covered (with a flip up door) AND Illuminated.

With this better clarity, I hope you will still be able to help.

There are EIGHT different types of 2000 F250/350 Stupor Duty Medium Parchment sun visors, I kid you not!

Please send me your phone number: sylhall@aol.com I'd prefer not to type all the dang differences and their apropos part numbers.
