You can put the total Vin in this link and it will help you out.

I see you live in Manitoba (MB) Canada. This is a 15 digit Canadian only Ford & Mercury truck VIN

To decode it: mercurypickups.com / I have a May 1953 edition: Ford Motor Company of Canada Ltd Ford and Mercury Truck Chassis Parts Catalog, but it's worthless for decoding VIN's.

1946/67: Due to tariffs that existed between the US and Canada, FoMoCo assembled cars and trucks in Canada that were only sold new in Canada.

Tariffs were abolished in late 1967, sold new in Canada only vehicles were cancelled after a few thousand 1968's were assembled.

Not prior to 1981 it isn't.

11 digit VIN: 1948/80 US trucks & 1966/68 Canadian trucks / 17 digit VIN: All automakers 1981 thru today Passenger Cars & Trucks sold new in the US & Canada.

Learn something everyday. Did not know those older ones had the 15 digit number.

If you need parts, obsolete or not, I can look up the numbers, then search for them on two online websites to see if anyone has them. Then will post the part numbers, sources that have them.

If the parts are still available, I will list the MSRP and the FTE member discount price offered by sponsor PARTSGUYED.COM (Ed Olson, parts manager of Horizon Ford in Seattle WA).

I've been doing this jazz on FTE since 11/04/2006. And, btw: One of the parts locator sites is only accessible to FoMoCo Dealers.
Hey NumberDummy! I found a guy on craigslist selling a 302 and auto trans out of a '69 Econoline Van. All he could tell me is that the trans is a 3-speed automatic, but didn't know WHICH 3-speed auto it was. I've done some research but can't find specifically if the stock trans with the 302 was a C4, FMX, cruise-o-matic, etc. Can you help??? Thanks!!!

Bill -
AMAZING! LOL I've followed this post for some time & must now get in on the plethora of knowledge! I created a thread for this but should have realized to come to yours first!!

1990 Ford F700 Bucket Truck

here's the deal:
1990 Ford F700 with the 429 industrial V8 [429-4V], 5speed manual tranny
VIN: 1FDNF77K9LVA49527 (supposedly an invalid VIN at the auto parts stores...but don't laugh, Autozone has been the ONLY place I could get parts. Napa = nothing).
GVWR = 24K
Type GVM: F77240
Body: BK8
WB = 171
Axle = 58

Tranny: Eaton-Fuller: TA-677-007103, Made in Brazil....
E9HT7004DA, Model: FS4005, Serial: 86110409

PTO: Chelsea, Dana Corp; Chelsea, Mich.
431X WE WXW 3X6

My #1 goal is to locate a manual - parts, repair, summary, anything remotely related to this truck. My boom lift is a Versalift, obviously separate stuff from the "truck itself". The hydro pump is a Vickers....
I just want to learn about my truck! I won't waste the novel of work done to it thus far. It could be worse though.

I'm not meaning to get ahead of myself, but I'm curious to see if the VIN decoder I used is as accurate as Mr. Bill so I will post here:

1FD - Ford, straight truck, USA
N - manual belts, GVWR 19501 - 26000
F77 - vehicle line F700, vehicle type truck
K - 8 cylinders, gas (Ford engine)
L - 1990 (model year)
V - assembly plant Kentucky
A49527 - production sequence #

F750 Dump truck

A friend just picked this 1969 up and we are trying to figure out what it has it has in it besides a boatload of greasy dirt.

The google foo isn't working so well and couldn't the tranny & axle code. The yellow paint on the valve covers suggests it might still have a 361 in it.

The door tag was painted a few times, so here we go

F78EUB68432

174 M F753 F81 R G3D
24000 182 3800 53

Dayton wheels.

Thank you for the help
