For all those fine folks complaining of closed down State Parks and CGs, I highly recommend boondocking. Find a nice stretch of BLM to call your own and see what your rig is capable of WITHOUT plugging in. It's my preferred choice, but then, my trailer is smidge smaller and more off-road capable than some of y'all that post on here......
Though I agree with you, there simply is no BLM land to camp on here in the northeast. What fries me right now is.... with our state's 'stay at home order', all private campgrounds had to close until further notice. The federal campgrounds are still open though. Apparently the government has figured out that their campgrounds in no way spread corona virus, but the private campgrounds do? Or is it something more sinister than that? Perhaps the government doesn't like the competition?

The govt fails to realize that RVs are self contained isolation pods. I can see bathhouse concerns but we have our own bathroom, kitchen and living areas. Nothing wrong about being outside. Sure, tanks need to be dumped but I have never had a person want to get close to me while doing that.
They tossed everyone out of the state park campground by me last week. Seems like camping is as low risk as you can get. For some reason, they never consulted me.

I agree mostly. I don't think this is a sign of something sinister happening, more of precautions being acted real time without much data to make the best choices. Private parks definitely don't want the liability, I began getting notices via thousand trail parks that I visit a couple weeks ago.
While agree being outside is probably the lowest risk, camping unless boondocking is not necessarily free and clear- at least from my experience. I am often sandwiched between other RVs closer than my next door neighbors here at my home. Liability is definitely heightened in those public bathrooms, lounge areas and such. Sure they could close those areas but...liability concerns are not removed.
My 2 Cents

Jackpot!!! This is how "camping" is really supposed to be. I am in a diff situation (family of 4 plus dog) otherwise me and the wife would have a much smaller rig to hit up these kind of areas. All good we will be empty nesters one day So jealous of this pic!!!
I just purchased 2020 F350 Lariat crew long box. When I ordered it I could not get the camper pkg which gives you the rear stabilizer bar because I wanted the 20" wheels.Don't know why or what that has to do with it... but I need to purchase one. I was going to just get the Ford one but has anyone bought an after market one? If so what one?

Well, that pic was taken in my front yard. I live on 5ac and all of my neighbors have at least that much, so not much of a privacy issue. I'm already making plans to head out camping lakeside for my birthday next month. I'll have my rolling bed, my boat, and a roaring campfire all to myself. My boys might tag along since school is shut down, maybe my mom will come along with her new hybrid. Point is, in my neck of the woods (literally), nothing stops me from going out and enjoying nature.

When I installed a rear sway bar on my Excursion I went with the Hellwig and it works well. But I like the factory setup a little better, mostly because of a cleaner install.

So far 2 camping trips missed this spring and who knows what else might be cancelled. We decided to take the week after Christmas and spend time in FL near Tampa, got a state park reservation. We have never really camped in December, will be a first, heck, technically we will be returning on New Years day so camp in Jan!
Plenty of BLM around me, so I'm still planning on going out on the weekend of the 1st (my birthday). My wife and I surprised each other and the kids this last Christmas with a bunch of summer plans.......if they don't get cancelled. Have 2 separate week long trips planned in Utah that centers around camping/boating at our favorite lake. Included in each of those trips are concerts to see Maroon 5 w/Meghan Trainor and the Doobie Brothers w/Michael McDonald. Also, we have plans for the family to go skydiving together. We'll see if we can keep all those pre-paid trips on the schedule.

This is a real nice camp ground we use every year. Fishing is great!
We are going to Hillsborough River State Park, not a lot of park openings for the week after Christmas in FL, as expected.
FL is a very interesting State if you can get over it being so flat and I am glad the route takes us down 301 to Tampa, I-95 and the FL Turnpike are so boring. We want to explore the other parts of the state besides Disney.

I am gearing up for an eventual camping excursion and I am in need of some advice. As far as suspension goes, I think my X is stock. Its an RWD 6.0. I pull a '32 footer and for the most part, am pretty happy but also know that I need to make some mods for longer hauls. With a stock X would you first A. Upgrade the suspension with a RAS or B. Get a new hitch?
I currently have the Eazway E2 hitch that the dealer (Camping World) threw in. At the time of purchase I wanted the Equalizer, long story short CW claimed that they could only throw in a hitch they had in stock, so I settled on the Fastway E2. It is decent but I don't find it great (then again maybe its the suspension I should be looking after?)
I am wondering if the Reese no sway system would be the best bang for my money or should I keep the hitch I have and invest in suspension to gain the security I am longing for?? I know pretty vague but want to see what folks think in my situation.
