Wow guys thanks!! You guys say you look forward to my posts, well I always look forward to reading the awesome comments. Thanks for the support and encouragement!!
I thought the truck would be striped this weekend but the materials didn't come in yet. It will be done next Saturday afternoon after the parade. We don't have too much left to do except hang the mirrors, change the washers on the brake banjo fittings and give the truck a good cleaning.
The boys had their first ride in the restored rig today. They were so excited!! We got the brakes finished. I came right from work so I didn't have the bell and mount. Tomorrow we have to clean the truck!
Thanks guys!! We were excited to take the old gal for a spin or two around the block. My little guy had his 2 front teeth pulled out this morning so I told him his reward for being so good was a ride in the truck.
Bobby, no siren yet. Did you see the string hanging in the first picture? I have the ropes run but I don't have any pull handles yet. I am going to bring out the bell and mount tomorrow so we can set everything up. Having some issues with the brake lights which will be taken care of tomorrow.
I involuntarily audibly gasped at the end of the first video. I wasn't done watching when the video ended.
I will echo Bobby, I was on the edge of my seat waiting for the siren. (Are we a bunch of big kids or what!)
It's been said hundreds of times, but is worth repeating. Awesome work Keith!!!!
The day you drop and pick up the kids from school in that, you will become Dad of the Century.
It was posted about 2 1/2 years ago. It's amazing how far you have come. It's worth the time to watch it. Keith, it would be good for you to watch it and reflect on your incredible journey. I can't wait for the book.
Joe, I might surprise them at school Friday afternoon. Funny you posting my old video, I just looked at that the other day. I can't believe my truck was in that condition!!
Ilya, its just the light. Did you notice the plain white bulb on the other side. I need to make that dark green. I bought some glass paint/stain that I will try on a regular bulb first.
Today Gerald got the brake & tail lights problem fixed. I temporarily mounted the bell and bracket to make sure it fits good and we got the ropes secured to it and the siren.
I need some wood pull handles. I friend was going to make a pair from some of the original wood off the truck by he said there was enough material.
Some new videos. The siren one was from last week.

My bell video is not uploading. I will try and post it later.
OK, just when I was thinking... how can this get any better?... a siren video with the kids in the truck pulling the rope! Who's up for a trip to Keith's house?
