the A4wd setting has stopped working, just flashes. i'm trying to track down what is causing the issue. looks like it could be 3 possible things right now..need to get it back before it really snows.
i was under the expy a few days ago looking it over, then yesterday i smelled gear oil. yup! left rear axle seal let go and soaked the wheel/rotor and pads with gear oil. so i'm having both sides replaced. at the same time i'm having the brake fluid replaced also since its never been done.
still seems a bit early for axle seals...86k but then again my grandpas went on this f-150 at 39k.
I just did my axle seals and bearings last week, best to do both as the seals may have went due to a bearing that is going and not allowing the axle to sit correctly. I have a few pics on the other site we are on. There is also a good write up out there by a Ford tech who did his on an '04 F150 with the same 9.75 rear
Hey Russ how does your expy do pulling we have a 97 Expy 4x4 with the 4.6L and the thing sags big time even small loads. By the way your Expy looks as good as your excursion and F250. Wanting to subscribe would love to see how your expedition is put all together to your liking.

thanks! i really like the expy, it was such a great deal and low miles i could not pass it up.
it tows very well, i towed our '69 mercury cougar last summer which was about 5,700lbs. did wonderful and hardly sagged and did well with power. the 4.6 is a dog in the expy so i would expect it to be even worse with a load.
otherwise i ordered a new multifunction switch(the windshield washer button doesnt like to work), next thing is to figure out my A4WD issue. getting the flashing A4WD light but 4high and 4low work perfectly. debating on what to try replacing first..i'm thinking the hall sensor in the t-case.
Your welcome. I love your blue ours is a green color and my dad wants it to be white. I dont mind the Expedition not being able to haul just was curious. We have plenty of bigger trucks as you might have noticed. Ours has 174,525 miles on it maybe more now but A4wd works geat I tried it myself. I hope you get it fixed. We paid 2250 for ours with 172000 miles and needed a few things. But again this about your truck cant wait to see more mods.

thats funny, the whole reason i wanted a '98 expy was the fact i picked out a white '98 xlt 4.6 4x4 off the show room floor for my grandpa when i was 8 years old. ever since he got rid of that truck i wanted one. most people dont like this light blue but i really love it..kinda rare also.
not alot of mods happening..i've been pretty happy with her all in all for the last 2 years. i have revised my wish list of mods though.
sct3 tuner
new headlights/corner lights
diamond cut fog lights
painted to match grill
03-06 expediton mirrors
new summer tires...not sure what i want yet
4:56 gearing front/rear
heated front seats
amber strobe lights front/rear
white knight rear lighting system
1" lift rear coil spacers
but with 4 trucks that suck money like leaches who knows when any of that will happen...
Ya imagine where I am 9 vehicles. Hey if you get a painted to match grille would love to buy your old grille off you ours is busted. My mom wanted a expedition so we got her this one after looking almost a year. Only had it for a few months but it has been a great truck. My mom doesn't want much modifying. Our 02 F250 V10 does most of the work. I like blue yet I like whie more 3 of the 9 vehicles we have are white. Only 2 blue trucks a black bike and a red truck and a green one. We wanted a 03-now Expediton but saw this deal and couldn't resist. Don't worry though you will get to your mods.

i got my amber LED bulbs for my new corner lights but i'm still waiting on the lights themselves. going to grab some LED resistors at work and hopefully they will be here soon.
i have a road trip this weekend..same trip i made 10-30-11 with the expedition going down south. since it was low on gas i thought i would fill it up tonight.
not sure why i got so many looks at the gas station filling up...LOL
