Supposed to pick it up on Tuesday or Wednesday. It looks to me like a rare WW2 1 1/2 ton, which was 2 driven rear axles, but had the military cab. Cabs are interchangeable so who knows. I think I can reach the guy who did the work. I'd do a 4bt if I were to keep it. Next will be to get some pics of it climbing the slopes here on Mt. Pickett. Most likely the warn electric winch will go on my tilt trailer, because I guess I've just proven to myself I'm not done retreiving old trucks. Come to think of it, this thing would make an awesome retreiver as is, just spool that rear winch cable onto the trailer to bring home the next Ford. My wife thinks it's cool. Her entire family are total mopar freaks and her first vehicle was her dad's old dodge work truck. Now let them give me *&#@ at Christmas about my Fords.
Can I post a video on this forum ? I never seem to see them here. Or have my kid put it on youtube? I can hardly count the u-joints and shafts under this thing.
OK, I still don't know how to do a link, but the video is up. '51 powerwagon 6x6 hemi'. Oh and to get back to the fords, we did one of the '37 coming up the hill with the load of logs. '37 ford 1.5 ton with load of logs'... Oh and there's still my old one '59 f350 with cummins 6at' they are all pretty much working trucks. At least they are in their work clothes and ready to be pressed into service.......... Not much of a film director, but you'll get the idea.
Ok, this is how I just found them.... Youtube. search 'garymtpickett'(my username) you come to a bunch of songs etc (gary puckett and the union gap) but on the left at the top of the column it says 'garymtpickett' click that and there's 3 videos of truck stuff. I will get my son to fix up a link tomorrow after work. Sorry, what a PITA.
Hey Gary,
I found them - that Dodge goes offroading over a pile of logs -
nice... I can't believe you loaded that old truck with full size logs to go up that hill - impressive.
Before I watched the Dodge video, I thought maybe I shouldn't post it here. I mean it isn't a Ford. But I love the Power Wagon's and this is just too cool.
