Pretty sure it was in '57, which is weird because I can't remember the last time I saw a '57 Ford in person, yet '57 Chevies are like flies on a dog pile.

Yep. 1957 was the first year Ford outsold Chevrolet in over a decade, with a record 1.67 million cars sold that model year. Also in '57, the 25 millionth Ford V8 engine was built. And the new 'fridge' F-series took 31.3% of the truck market.

My SWAG is that is a Wisconsin four cyl air cooled powered welder or compressor and I don't see an air filter intake large enough for a compressor. I think someone converted the Wisconsin to run on two and compress air on two.

Well, I now notice that the truck says "DREXLER Welding Service" so the welder is probably correct. The car is probably his portable welding service.

I am savin these pics and putting them in a screen saver so every 2 minutes it changes to a different old Ford truck pic. I had girly pics but everyone snubbed there nose at them. Not guys, the girls. Jealous I think. But hey they wouldn't pose for any so what's up with that?
