Wow.. 5 pages of jack **** jiberish. I wondered how long it would take ya'll to tire of bashing someone that doesn't have time to waste arguing with you. I've been busy doing fun stuff so progress has been slow. I've remade the gussets for the swing shackle mounts and installed the bushings. They look MUCH better than the first set. Also welded in a cross member between the spring hangers. I will also gusset these in the front to rear axis. The springs are in but I'm having clearance issues with the pinion brake rotor. Until I decide on what to do about that, I'll have to hold off on welding the perches on and hanging the axle. Spring plates and u bolts are already made. Should have the axle under the truck tomorrow so I can measure for a drive shaft and have it made.
FYI: In order to keep the trans case output in line with the rockwell yoke (and keep the tires spinning the right direction) I'm going to swap the knuckles so the drag link and hydro steer cylinder stay behind the axle.
Found my girl's first tow truck. Goin' to look at it this weekend. I suspect pickup coil or ignition module. It's gonna be difficult not to rob the axles out of it to put in her mud truck. I'm gonna take a module with me to see if I can hear it run.
No time to argue with us, yet you keep coming back
There are some who are interested in my build and there will be more. "Build it and they will come." I just wanted the children to settle their silly differences before I tried to post something serious.
Just post up progress. If you don't they will run out of things to say haha.
But it would be nice to read something on FTE that isn't bashing at one person or another. I just want to see some crazy *** fabrication.

Swap knuckles? You know can rotate the chunk to make it either way. Atleast you can with the 5 tons, I would only imagine the 2.5's are the same....
With the drag link in the rear, the chunk on the axle I have is oriented toward the short side axle tube making it passenger side drop.
With the drag link in the front, the chunk on the axle I have is oriented as far to the driver's side as it can be configured. This is where it HAS to be. So in order to keep the drag link in the rear, I have to swap the knuckles.
Rotating the chunk is not a possibility because the driveshaft will hit the transmission pan.
