i don't think i would go ox locker. they sound like a good option, and i like the idea of having an actual physical cable for engagement, but i believe they went out of business. you can still find replacement cables for them, but for how long? and they are pretty pricy last time i checked.

Ill never use another detroit on the front again. To many broken parts to deal with.
Modified Power Lok LS unit is the only thing my D60's usually ever see.
Heavy trucks and detroits up front are not a great combo especially when large tires are being thrown around.

Detroit out back is again the only option for me. Ive busted ARB's and dont like them at all.
I dont believe that you have to wheel them very hard, but again large tires and heavy vehicles see, to destroy them.

seriously!?! keep the bench while you are young and active with the ladies. slide the little woman close to you in the middle and get some high-way delight, cant do that as easy with captains chairs, unless they are the badass full swivel ones like my old bronco had. lady mouth hugs in your truck ftw!!!!

but seriously if you do want buckets or captain's, most all will require modification to sit right in your truck, so go with what ever you can find for cheap that is comfortable and decently priced

I like my detroits. I broke a 30 spline stub shaft once but I wheeled quite a bit with those until it finally popped. I now run 35 spline chromoly's. I like the fact of knowing it will always give you traction when you need it. Detroits are always engaged they only disengage when turning a corner and traction is not beig lost. things will break if you dont run the best parts.
Dillnutz your gonna wanna run all spicer 1350 u joints as well. Does your truck have the divorce t-case or is it married? I had to make a custom rear output yoke for my np435 tranny to be able to run a 1350 for the divorce driveshaft. I even called high angle drivelines in Cali and they said you cant get one. Mine was made from a 1350 9 inch yoke with the splines lathed and my 28 spline old ones lathed down to just a tube, pressed in and welded with a cast rod pre-heat then tossed in a bucket of dry sand to slow cool. Works awesome so far..

Honesty what good is a captains chair in a standard cab truck?

Too many things getting in the way of a functional truck only prolongs the end result.
If you have a seat, then leave it in there and get this truck on the road.

Get this thing functional and drive it, then doll it up.

O as for a detroit in the front for steering I find it to be not a big problem at all. In the winter I had full control driving in the snow. It was awesome I would come around a corner, punch it and get sideways for as long as I wanted to until I contersteered and brought it back without worrying of going to far and spinning a 360. At first I was a little worried driving it in the snow with lockers but I got use to it and was bombing past other trucks on the higway during blizzard like conditions.

heavy snow isn't the problem with front lockers, it's the light, blowing drifting snow, and the ice and sleet that get you. me and dillin deal with the same kind of winters and plowing/road conditions. if it would snow heavy wet snow, and the plows wouldn't get to it, i could run like a racecar with out fear of losing traction and spinning out. i actually like when it snows really bad, because then i don't have to worry about all the dip*****s on the road that don't know how to drive in snow and don't know when to stay home.
