To each their own. My most reliable vehicles have been dodge trucks, and my worst were the GM's, for cars my most reliable have been Fords and my worst were GM's. Never owned a foreign make yet, but of the big three the GM's just don't hold up or do what I want, but I did like my Saturn, that worked perfectly....then the engine blew.

I'm think the same way.I'm not a brand loyalist as well.I have my 3 trucks and I have a 68 Pontiac ,and just bought a motor home powered by a 440 dodge engine.I would love to find a dodge truck forum as well as this motor home needs work and talking with somebody with experiance would be an asset.
I'm not one that will only buy brand X either, and that shows below. However, I won't buy another GM vehicle, unless it's just a crazy stupid deal. I've had GM's before, and only one wasn't a never-ending problem-fest. That was a '63 Impala 2dr sport. It worked quite well, right up till the day the engine just died, and it dribbled 2 qts of oil out one tailpipe........
On the other hand, I've never had a ford truck that was anything less than super reliable.
I've had terrible luck with Ford trucks, had 4 of them, 3 blew engines, one blew the tranny as well and one that breaks down every third time I drive it. But I keep buying them. My biggest problems with Dodges is they rust so bad, but they keep going, I've had a couple of Aspens that were so rusty, when braking the chassis would stop, then the body would stop. The most underpowered thing I ever drove was a PT cruiser, it took off so slow I thought it was broke, but my friend said it always went that fast. My gm's, well lets just say I almost mastered rebuilding GM alternators and starters, now the rebuild kits are difficult to find. My 60's stuff usually holds up pretty good, but I don't use them as daily drivers either, and there is alot less things that can go wrong with them. I'm building a 61 Ford Falcon right now for a daily driver because I'm sick of computer controlled vehicles and fwd's.
I hate waiting at the airport. Last month I flew out to cali to pick up a truck for a freind. Left the house @ 4am to get to the airport by 5, and had to wait till 6 to get on the plane. Arrived in denver about 7;15, and had to hang around till 10:15 to board next plane. That got me to San Fran about 2:30, after minor fog delay. The short flight to modesto was supposed to be about 30 minutes after I got there, but with all the fog delays and terminal changes, it was about an hour late.
Fortunately, the guy that met me at the airport in modesto arrived just as the plane parked, and we met at the door of the terminal. Rest of the trip was a breeze. Even the blizzard on I40 wasn't much of an issue, since the truck was an old military pickup. Chevy C35 4x4 diesel, government spec lockers, and new BFG TA's in 35x12.50-16.5. It was almost like "What snow"?
