Geeze, airlines must think people LIKE waiting at the airport, they sure tend make them do a lot of it.
Everything inside the "secure zone" is way over-priced, and going outside that zone insures another long wait to get back inside it.
While I was trapped in Denver, I gladly paid over $2 for a soda, cause I was jonesin' for a 'dew. Fortunately, I found the ONLY vendor in the entire airport that sold non-coke products. I guess those big coke signs everywhere should have been a warning.......
That was after I paid almost $3 for a coke in the "Smoking lounge". It was actually a bar, but the only place inside the secure zone where I could have a smoke. The only way to be able to stay, was order something. ~7am is too early for alcohol, but 1 order was enough to be able to gain access for up to 24 hrs.

Congratulations Private Hickman. It'll be 30 years of service for me in May...enlisted as an E1 in 1980, now an O5....you never know where it might take you. Enjoy the ride.
planning on doin basic then contracting with ROTC, gonna work out so i can start the advanced classes early, at C of O you can take the first two years without being contracted. but a contract is necessary for the latter two. i was shocked by how niave some of the guys at meps were. had a marine try to convince me he was going to make a hundred grand a year working on generators, and he'd never see combat.... also had one guy down right make me laugh. he swore his dodge stealth (turbo) could out run a vette, and how fast the neon's really are... silly ricers, useless wings are for penguins
Finally got home about 1:00 am...around three hours late...not too bad all in all. Fun landing....I think the pilot had about an inch and a half of runway left when he finally stopped the plane.
Someone on here said I drive too new of a vehicle. So I thought I would put up pictures of my next daily driver. 1961 Ford Falcon Tudor Deluxe. Mighty 144 inline 6 and fordomatic 2 speed auto and will be 3.10:1 rear end. I was going to fix up a 76 Mercury Comet, but the guy that owned this car got divorced and lost his shed. And I know everything that has been done on this car because I helped the guy do everything on it. I reringed and put new bearings in the 144, and a few other things. The plan is to use the fordomatic until it comes apart, and I also am slowly building up a 200 4v for it. I should have it good to go by the end of the month weather permitting. I love the two-tone as well, when we picked it up the whole passenger side was bare metal so my dad por-15ed the whole side and now it's going to stay like that because I love it. Figured this would be a good daily driver, nothing simpler than a Falcon.
Aw man that's a nice car! I like that paint job too. lol
Well yesterday I got on a cleaning fit and started on cleaning up my truck. I got some steel wool and cleaned up the white lettering on the tires, steel wool'd the bumpers just a bit (to get off the surface crud), polished up the chrome tailpipe tip, and swept out the bed. I'm about to go and finish cleaning out the interior, then I'm going to use a nice Armor-All detailing kit I got for Christmas a few years ago to clean stuff up. Once the weather clears up (wouldn't you know it, I get to cleaning my truck and it rains...and I didn't even wash it) and I get the front driver side tire patched, I'll put some tire shine stuff on the tires and get 'em all nice looking. And on top of all this I hooked up the lock cylinder for the door lock on the driver door, so now I can unlock the door with the key, instead of unlocking the passenger side then reaching over to unlock the driver door. lol
And seeing that mint '89 another member posted in this section has got me wanting to put on some later model door panels. They're carpeted and are a little smoother in design than the stock 80-86 ones.
