I believe it was scraped. He needed a little money, so he sold off both the 4wd and the wrecked f100 he bought for the engine.
Bummer too, as the 4wd was a t18, and had complete drivetrain, minus engine. I pulled the engine out ~12 years ago, and it hadn't been touched since. Engine had a couple flat lobes on the cam, so he bought a wrecked truck with a fresh rebuilt 300 to put in it, but the beer and easy chair became more important........
hey, i know all about that beer and easy chair.....lol
In moderation, there's nothing wrong with either. But he is so lazy, he doesn't bother dating. Nearly 50, and never even had a serious relationship with anything BUT beer and easy chairs........
Well, there were the years he had a semi-serious fling with weed........

Anyone notice how I just pop up and make some random statement nowadays? That or I pontificate about whatever it is that I'm planning on doing? :P
It's been a long day and I didn't get around to pulling the stereo out of my truck. Why, pray tell, do I want to pull my stereo out? So I can pull all the wiring I put in for it and redo it, PROPERLY. I plan to make a simple harness for it, run the wires neatly and have groups of wires bundled and taped together with a bit of electrical tape. I plan to do this with my Autometer gauges too.
I also just picked up a nice little FIAMM 30 amp relay that'll be used to switch power on and off to my add-on fusebox. It's going to be wired up to come on with the ignition key.
4wd conversion is back on. A freind owns a wrecker service/auto repair shop. Has an old bronco that he only wanted the 3rd member (9") from, along with a couple other old rusty fords that he wants the 3rd members from.
After pulling the tag off the bronco 3rd member, and finding out it's 3.50 open, he's gonna let me have anything I want from these vehicles, including the 3.50 3rd member, if I pull them, and swap him my good 3.25 pumpkin.
Best of all, the bronco was a 351 HO 4V and C6. I can take any/all items to make the conversion under my truck. Unfortunately, the bronco has auto hubs. Will have to solve that......
Oh, and after pulling the parts, we're gonna scrap the rest, and split the funds. That *should* cover having the driveshaft modded, and a set of manual hubs. Might even cover part of the cost of new BFG's to put on the chrome wheels currently on that bronco.
I also get to do all this at his shop, and will have access to a wrecker for moving the trucks around, and a lift to swap my front axle and rear 3rd member.
All in all, it was well worth stopping by to get the title paperwork for that 95 B2300 I bought last month ($700).
He gets parts removed from junkers, so he can get them off the lot, and I get a full 4wd drivetrain for a little labor, plus we both get a little pocket change from scrap.
3.50 is a hair steeper than I really wanted, but it will work fine with 31, 32, or 33" tires behind a 300/C6 combo (2300 to 2500RPM @ 65). Plus, I get to keep the 9" instead of compromising with an 8.8".
Anyone else have a rather productive day?
Yeah, scrap prices have rebounded somewhat from about a year back, so there should be a few bucks worth from a bronco, an E150, and an F100, in spite of the rust.......
That is one big shop. How many doors are you installing? My cousins shop is about that size, heated and a/c. His electric bill runs about 800.00 a month.
If it is none a/c, you should have a couple of doors on the opposite side for good crossflow.
My uncles old shop was 20x 40 and had one roll up door on the end. Even with large fans, it got pretty dang hot in their.
I think it will be a 16' door on either end and a walk through door on the side.
The a/c and cement will be 24'X30 and the rest will be be dirt with no a/c.
It will just be for storing parts that I strip off stuff.
Will probly put the hoist and engine stand in there when its not in use.
I am just doing the slab right now, that will let me do the motor on my 90 7.3 and get it running. Not sure when the whole thing will be done.
Thats great, nothing like free parts!
You should make a fair amout scraping them, they are paying $80/1,000 lb here.
My day was ok, got ready for them to pour the slap for my shop monday.
holy crap thats $8/100lb... its $11.50 in Greenville.
my day was crap... my coupling that holds my tie rod was stripped...got it fixed and then realized the popping that i had heard wasnt from that, it was from the bar that runs all the way across and ties to the pin for the steering( cant remember what its called) and its cracked, and of course it was past time for the parts store to be open, so its at my uncles place. Oh and me and the old man almost had it out. Today = SUX
