Yeah, mine uses very little oil. She sure runs good. I'm getting a T 19 this Saturday. Yeah I know, It won't work on high speed, but at least I can drive my truck to the local farmers markets. Here it is with a few changes. I got her in Amelia.
It's completely shot. It clatters all the time and grinds every time you try to shift. It has a grinding noise when your going down the road. Plus, it leaks bad and has made a mess under my truck. To add to all of this, it came out of a 93 truck, so I have no place to plug the speedo cable in. (I have a mechanical speedo) It just won't work. I ain't got enough money for another ZF5 and I can't find any used.
Here is my 93. Picked it up for $800, trans wouldn't shift, took $48 and 30 minute to fix. it use to be a northern MO truck hence the rust, and the PO was bondo/red primer happy. I have repair panels to fix everything, just gotta do it.
Not going to lie, I have a bit of lust towards that truck.
Finally got myself a headache rack for a decent price. $1000 from the manufacturer, or $200 from my neighbor.
Also my bumper was finally done in from one to many offroading adventures.
So I bought an old winch bumper my uncle made like 20+ years ago, painted it black and installed it on my truck.
After going and playing around yesterday with my buddy, we went through a water hole that went up over the hood of his 05 WK... Didn't even get my cab wet.
I have to build myself a skid plate, and radiator cover for the bottom, little to exposed for my liking.

Reason: Photo stupidity lol
Its treated me pretty good, Had it for about 4+ years now, and the only 2 big things was a tranny rebuild ($1,001) and a radiator ($350), need to do the return lines and top hats, then glowplugs again lol, but can't complain about that.

Reason: spelling
For 4 years that isn't bad at all. My biggest issue has always been electrical, the 1g just doesn't cut it. Did a 3g swap a while back, it blew up, and I was forced due to finances to go back to the 1g, so I've been fighting with that. Truth be told the engine and trans have needed zero maintenance for almost 3 years other than fluid changes. Just did glow plugs for the first time, and now I have to do injectors (one is misfiring).
Just got a freshly rebuilt 3g alternator, going to re-do all the power lines and call it a day with the electrical.
