The Blue Brick!
1990 F250 Custom 7.3L IDI E4OD tranny
Got her for $1,100 and she came with an extra IP and two full tanks of diesel!

Now she eats a varied diet of wvo, wmo, atf, kero, and anything else that will make her go!
No mods whatsoever!
and this baby's doing the long haul to California or AZ on wvo!

Work done since I got her 3 months and over 7,000 miles ago-

replaced air filter after buying- air filter in it looked worse than a shop-vacs, had two whole cup-fulls of dirt trapped in the air filter when I beat it out?!
replaced fuel filter, originally had Wix, now I use Hastings FF1039 and have been through about 5 due to running odd fuels
replaced #1 cylinder O-rings with Viton because it started leaking at cap
replaced #1 cylinder return lines and to/from IP
replaced burned-out Autolite GP's with ZD9's
3 oil changes so far due to engine being previously used as a dirt vacuum
changed from Rotella and stock oil filter to Delo 400 and fl1995 stroker filter- increase in oil flow according to gauge...
Due to surging, dying, etc removed both tanks, cleaned out gunk, repaired broken pick-up tubes, replaced all rubber lines to/from tanks
which also fixed an air-leak at return line whee it hooks to front tank..

LOL
In the last pic you can see where some dog pissed on my rear tire!?
maybe he smelled the grease?

Alot seem to like 265's on a stock 4x4 F250, and biggest you can go without lift I think is 285.

I think I saw that blue utility truck on the VA Craigslist section. Is that where you got the truck? It looks a little rough. Good g-sh, those are some BIG tires. You really need a lift on that rig. Nice truck.

Just had my sidepipes installed last week. 3.5 inch diameter, 83 inches long. The sound is unique. A cross between a old 50's hotrod, the rattle of the ol' IDI, and the roar of 420 cubes of big block V8.

@6.9 diesel nut

Yes, I got my baby off the Richmond Craigslist- sold my 1972 390 F100 to get her

The tires in the pic were the tires it came with- the tires on it now are even bigger 265/75/16's

I love this truck more than any other I have ever owned, which is many

It runs so good on veggie oil compared to diesel I can't believe it!
My shimmy/shake when hitting OD is non-existent when running veggie so I think it is as one member here suggested that the veggie oil makes up for the loose tolerances in my worn-out IP and that's why the shake goes away when using wvo....maybe

I know my truck runs so good on veggie it doesn't even sound like a diesel anymore
No clang-bang-***** sounds now, it sounds like a good, quiet 302...

might want to try advancing your timing to get a little rattle back with that fuel then.
a psd for example would do that for ya via it's pcm.we kinda need to tweak things manually with these old gals.

Yes, I love it

I would never get a computer-controlled hydraulically-acuated bs truck.
Mechanical IDI injection rules!

I know, or think, it may have a "dumb" computer ??
The tranny's e-controlled right?

anyway, my IP is set at stock and I was going to advance it a dime to the passenger side but I gotta remove the throttle linkage, etc to get at bottom nut on pass side right?

it's just so covered in grime and dirt (still) that I'm scared to mess with anything

the whole engine is coated in dust and oil

it leaks oil at valve covers and many other places but these "leaks" do not drip or anything and it doesn't really use any oil...the leaks are kind of seeping thru the dirt and stuff...most engine parts can't even be seen

you just need to use a short or bent wrench to get to the bottom/rear nut.it's a little tricky, but not too bad.
if you have an auto trans with overdrive,it's the Electronic controlled 4 speed Over Drive trans yeah.sorry for the bad news.
it's not exactly brain surgery diagnosing electrical issues with it,but it can be a pita sometimes.so couldn't every manual trans in my past trucks too though....and that always required grease under the nails to resolve and bloody knuckles lol.
