Anybody ever bid on any state jobs?? I'm looking at one now and its ridiculous the amount of bonding and crap paperwork I am doing. Thinking about passing altogether. Just wondering if you guys had dealt with that.
Well, back to work for me, bids wont finish themselves!! I'll try to check in tonight....
I've had a few county ones, best one I had was LA County Fire, 250k a year they spent with me. I just wrote an amendum that prices subject to change per manufacturer. you could do the same in your bid to cover market conditions at time of job and cover your butt.

I wasn't asking for how much change was due, as much as I was asking how to count it back. Pete had the right answer earlier. Anyway, congrats on becoming a productive tax paying citizen. Now don't forget to start a savings account and just throw $5 or $10 a week in there to cover unexpected costs in the future.

I'm going through a seminar right now that is being taught by Dave Ramsey.
I can thankfully say that I'm doing most things right, but there are also some things that I wish I had done differently.
But in a nutshell, if you never borrow, it will have the same effect on your bottom line as making at least 20% more money than the next guy with a wallet full of credit cards.
The borrower is slave to the lender. Slave. Who wants to be a slave?
Best advice ever. When I first opened my bank account I never thought my savings would one day save my butt, but it did! I put at LEAST 10% of my check in my savings and was good to go. My parents have both read Dave's book and I think next time I see them I will get it from them.

I didnt see any allowances anywhere, they just told us to stockpile what we would need before hand...Thanks for the compliment by the way, like Jim said, lessons learned the hard way...lol

Once we have that done, Lord willing, we'll snowball BOTH payments into the mortgage.... takes a lot of discipline, but it definitely pays off!
Parents are snowballin' right now and its working very quickly. Dads only got one payment left on his tractor, and his plan is to pay the mortgage off on the property down there in Bama.
