Alright, this might be a generation type question, but let's say someone handed you cash to pay for their purchase and then all the power went out so your register died after the drawer was open.
Do you know how to count change back to someone without the help of the register? In other words, the amount owed is $6.83 and they hand you a $20. Would you have to do the math, or do you know how to count the money back to the customer?
Not really important, just wondering what they teach now a days. They didn't teach my daughter how to do it when she started as a cashier.

That's easy, Chris.
First you'd count out to the nearest even dollar. "And 17 makes 7$"
Then you'd start counting back the bills. "And 3 makes 10 and 10 makes 20. Have a nice day, Ma'am!"
The only problem is that if all the power went out you wouldn't be able to pop the drawer. At least you couldn't where I worked.
I figured I'd answer since I'm of the same generation as Jake and Nick.
By the way: Anyone seen Nick?
Edit: It looks like he's been around just not in here to BS.
