My friend brought by these two girls he met in a bar one night. They were both from Booneville Ar. Man there must be something in water out there, because i aint never seen anything like that. And the accents nearly killed me. I have a small southern accent because of my whole family having them, but these girls were sent from the holly land.
Very true, and you don't sound like a yankee. You just don't sound native. I spent several years on the left coast and they don't really seem to have an identifiable accent of their own.
I personally don't have an accent at all, but every time I travel out of state, everyone always asks me what part of Texas I'm from. I think my wife must hide a tag on my clothes or something.
I guess that brings up another point. We're gonna have to teach Jim how to properly use a grill. As I'm sure everyone has figured out from your posts by now, being able to cook on a grill down here becomes kind of second nature.
You could probably write one and sell it to all the dummies up north, but a foreign (northern) accent is easy to spot down here. Scott's been in Texas how many years, and it didn't take 5 seconds on the phone with him to know he wasn't from Texas. Rich has been in Oklahoma for several years and he still sounds just like you do.
I'd say as long as you don't offer a money back guarantee, your book will do quite well Jim. J-L is till young enough that there's still hope for her though. Just get out your baseball bat and start practicing your swings. Ever heard a southern gal talk? You'll be beating the boys off in just a few years.
That's why J-L got a Wii for easter Home run derby practicing with the baseball bat.
Some time ago Brandon had put up a list of the southern talk it was great. I had it saved on the computer that got wet in the flood.

Nolan I didn't detect a hint of a southern accent from you, A touch of Jeff Spicoli from Fast Times at Ridgemont High...................

I do cook a bit on the grill..................using propane
Also, Chris is right about Southern gals and their accents. I melt every morning when I pick up my breakfast from the little store in town, and the gal behind the counter calls me "honey" with that thick drawl......so, so hot.
With your avatar, this is kind of how I expected you to talk in your posts anyway.
Your words make sense on a computer screen, but they don't mix well with that yankee accent. Just sounds funny when they say it.
Well, you wouldn't be disappointed. I hear this list used pretty much on a daily basis. Down here, it's no big thing. A buddy of mine moved here from Long Island not long ago and listening to him try to fit in is hilarious.
