Jim, when I changed the fan blade on my truck last year I went to Northern Tool and bought a 1 7/8" open ended wrench for the fan nut. It isn't a perfect fit but it is very close and it worked very well. I looked at all the local places and no one had the Ford fan wrench that was big enough to work on the 7.3. The 1 7/8" wrench was less than $20 too.

Think I payed $175 for mine bout 35 yrs ago,and didn't have one close when I did my water pump so I used a pipe wrench
does it involve me jumping around like a madman, holding my right hand against my chest with a dirty rag slowly turning red, while uttering a string of curses that would make a longshoreman blush??
cause if it does, you hit the finger on the nail with a BFH!!

i bought a complete fan clutch wrench set from railroad salvage 10 years ago when the water pump in my 88 went for $65.
it has both the large wrenchs that goes on the pulley bolt heads, and the smaller wrenchs for the fan clutch.
there are 6 different sizes of each.
it is a chinese kit, but for the limited times i have used it it works fine.
yup. we tried it on a few trucks in work.
the bed has to be spotless clean and scuffed up for it to stick halfway decent.
it does not hold up very well to heavy use, and once it gets a tear or puncture in the liner material, it peels off pretty quick.
to do an 8 foot bed will cost around $150, and you have to do the prep and put the liner on yourself.
to rinoline the bed costs around $400, and you don't have to do anything but drop it off, and pick it up a few hours later.
we do the rinoliner now on all the trucks. it is easier, and holds up much better.
I built the tools for the bigger fan hubs and would probly have built the one for this truck but my tools were 750 miles from where I had a leaky water pump

Well, it involved you jumping around and cursing, but I didn't realize you hurt yourself that bad. I thought it was closer to a "close call" type of thing.
You can break the nut loose with a chisel and hammer, Jim
or maybe rent the proper tools from autozone
I do like lobster too. I used to have customers that gave me seafood all the time.

Thanks for all the input! It's raining here so I won't be doing it today. I'm in the same boat as you Ray actually your closer to all my tools than I am!!
There is a HF a few towns over I might have to go by and grab a couple of wrenches there.
The 2 Autozones in this area are a joke neither of them has squat to rent. People rent the stuff then never return it, and they never replace it.

Having almost any tool I could possibly ever need it is tormenting to get separated from them.I do carry about 500 lbs of the bare necessities in my truck almost all the time.
This is the tool I now need to build which I will probly never need again. The 48mm i can work around
