I like black on a SD, maybe I am partial because mine is black, well, black/gray. Soon though, it will be all black. Color had no bearing on my purchase, looked for 8 months to find the truck I wanted, well almost, still would have liked a 6 spd, but after looking for so long I wasn't going to let color be a deciding factor. I test drove white, blue, gray, red and gold trucks, and maybe a few more too.
Lisa, good luck with your job tomorrow.
I think it's time to shower and turn in, 4:30 comes early and I haven't been up that early in 2 months.
Im sure its possible to replace the lock. You just have to do some searching! When I was doin the property management thing you wouldnt believe the different types/brands of locking mechanisms out there. Contact the manufacturer if all else fails! (if theyre still around)
I'll have to go look at it again. I think its a name brand. Its the type that has a key lock button on one side, and a button on the other, and when you push them in the top will pop up. It won't close anymore, I haven't spent a lot of time with it to figure out why...also I don't have the key for it, so that presents a problem so I'd need to replace them anyway.

LOL, I'll be up at 5:00 tomorrow..I haven't really been up that early in months myself.
Thanks, and good luck to you too. I'm nervous I must admit. I get to check out my office tomorrow and probably place an order for a new computer/software and maybe an office chair.
Lisa I actually just got lucky when I had found my truck. It had everything I was looking for, except it had black fender flares and i was looking for an all white truck.
My ideal truck was a white 03 7.3 liter supercab shortbox lariat with grey leather. I had wanted a 6 speed but the lariat was more important so auto it was. When I drove past it and showed interest, my woman actually pushed me into getting it. She knew it was exactly what i had wanted, and she knew how hard i was looking for one!
XLT, 4x4, decent miles, 7.3, not a huge amount of damage, leak free
It's actually got a wee bit more body damage than I would have liked to see, but the price was right at $7,300.
I'm going to guess that I could get my second cousin twice removed on my dad's side or whatever the hell relation he is of mine to do everything decent for a reasonable price.
I'll probably get a price from him and a body shop that does impeccable work just down the road from the shop.
Lisa: For what a new box costs it's almost not worth messing around trying to get the current one to shut properly and change the locks. Dad's got an old Weather Guard in his beater. I pulled the locks out and he brought them to the lock smith and we got keys.

That's what women are for....encouragement. And the occasional naughty favor.
You guys will probably flame me for this, but when I was shopping for trucks, I looked at Dmaxies, Cummins, and PSD's.
The Dmaxies were way too expensive. A lot of Cummins I looked at were still running strong but falling apart on the outside...A few months into my search I decided a PSD would be the way to go for me.
I wasn't as particular as most of you on packages and color and whatnot. I just wanted a clean, maintained 7.3 that was in my price range. 13K
Only thing I'd really change about my truck is the tranny...rather have a handshaker.

I looked at Dodges w/Cummins and 7.3s. I ended up going with the 7.3 because the Dodges were all falling apart around the Cummins and they wanted outrageous amounts of money for those pieces of junk.
For a while I wanted an F150, but when I found out that they only get like 14mpgs and with intake/exhaust/chip I can get close to 20 on a PSD I quickly decided against the 150 in favor of a PSD.
Then since the 250/350 are pretty much the same truck I didn't see much reason to go 250 instead of 350.
Mom tried to convince me that a 350 was "too big" and that a 150 would be better. I told her that if anything a 350 SRW was too small and I might need a dually.
And dad and I were talking about the Jeep paint and he reminded me that my brother had bought and forgotten about a Turtle Wax product that does an awesome job of removing oxidation and other crap so it looks like that's what I'm gonna be doing.
I actually didnt mind my f150 at all. But for me it was time for something that got a little better economy, was just as reliable, could tow a little more (although I did do pretty well with the f150) and something that was gonna be around for some highway miles.
Now that i had a super duty I wouldnt be without one, although I would get a gasser f150 for a second 4x4.
I never was a chevy or a dodge fan. Always loved the cummins, just hated what was around them!

Yea, but I can't stand the looks of the 99-04 I think it is F150. In my opinion they're some of the ugliest trucks Ford has ever made. I'd get myself a non-pink Wrangler before I got a 150.
Pete: well a nice new box cost a couple hundred bucks. Also, this box has some sentimental value...so I'd like to get it fixed.
Hey Lisa, go to your local camper dealership, or bigbox hardware store, and get a code 751 key and try it. 90% of all storage compartment locks are 751 keys.
