We had a nice 10" snow day here a couple years back, I got a call from some friends who got themselves stuck in the middle of the night, It took nearly an hour to get there because of traffic. By the time I got home it was 5:30 am, I crashed, about 4 hours latter I go to work, everyone here was making fun of me " oh poor Pat cant drive his big ol truck in the snow"
That was when I learned I didnt have true 4x4, or even close to it.
I know my Subaru's have been WORLDS better in snow than my truck, but they are lighter and have better weight distribution. Still, I never had much trouble getting around. What would you call "true 4x4"?
Pat, I would imagine that would make it MORE difficult to drive in the snow than just a 2wd. One tire would hook up, the other doesn't,..did it make the truck turn in circles?

Jay...hows that flippin car comin?
I am betting, actually I know, you to have the same thing, our front ends are floaters, where as our rears are limited slip. So
Well...I've never had any problems in the snow in this truck..it crawls through just about everything.
In fact, now that I think of it...I did get stuck once trying to bust through a pile of plowed snow. Stuck the truck good, the point of my bringing this up is...I accidentally left the truck in drive when I jumped out. As I looked under the truck, I saw the driveshaft spinning and in fact, both front tires were turning.

I dont know.. I know that last time I got stuck, I only had the one wheel spinning, dug itself a nice little hole.
My next Mod, I hope, will be a tru track for the front end.
Just a quick run by, I see I'm not a supporter anymore...maybe if I logged in more than once a month I would have noticed, lol.
Couple things- Every 4x4 that I know of, stock, slips in the front. Its not a locker. Now that being said, I think our SD's are pretty good in the snow, but if someone has real 4x4, like both diffs locked, they will kick our butts. I see it in the log roads all the time.
Brendan- I am getting texts all the time also, and they are all blank or say page. thanks. lol
Lisa- I noticed you would like Sheldon and I to build you a shop...Just ask sweetheart, and you shall receive...I would love to fly to Colorado and hang with a few of you. It would be a cool work party. Pizza and beer, maybe a hug at the end and we'll call it good. Ok? and yes I'm serious.

I'll try to stop in later...
Wow. wow. I mean that's quite an offer...especially for the beautiful work you do. Damn, now I gotta move and buy a house before this offer expires.
Maybe I could get Sheldon down here on some sort of work visa. haha.
I'm good for grunt work but I have almost no skill. I can carry stuff around, run the saw, mix concrete, whatever...and of course buy pizza and beer and make emergency runs to the hardware store.

Waiting on parts to be delivered tomorrow. Then hard at it. Thanks for asking
