Jay, I have prolly done 30 of the 3.1L intakes...but there is a huge difference between the intake and head gaskets!
replace the tstat and gasket, clean and lube the orings on the injectors...a little oil works great...the intake bolts only get tightened to 11 ft lbs and the upper plenum get 18 ft lbs...its not a lot...use caution!
lol no...has nothing to do with gas. Just intolerance to certain kinds of foods...anything high in fat content tends to make me pretty sick. The surgery I had was to remove a bad gall bladder that hadn't been working correctly since birth. I just get an upset stomach a lot when I don't eat right or when I get really stressed, is really all it boils down to.

Well, tore apart the intake on the Llumina. Looks like bad gaskets. Not as bad as I had thought. I spoke with Mike (Ford79) for quite a while. He did some research for me and seems that is a pretty common issue on that motor. So now I need to order some parts and do a little routine maintenance while everything is apart.
Thanks Mike!!!!
That's super good news Jay.

Then i had my left one done 4 more times because i was an idiot and cant stop playing sports. Then finally, i screwed the bones up so much in that knee that they just replaced it which will have to be redone in like 10 years
Well I have a brother-in-law who has had both hips replaced (skiing and trapeze) and he tells me that joint replacement technology gets better and better every year....so maybe in 10 years they can accommodate you with one that is much more advanced. Still, going through invasive surgery like that can't be much fun.
Well to steal Lisa's terms bumpercar season has officially started in CT.
Went to the NAPA warehouse to grab a new float for the snowblower's carb. Well on the way back I saw at least 3 accidents. One in the ditch going my way. One in the ditch going the other way and one spun 180* and into a jersey barrier.
And that darn new float still didn't fix the problem. Grrrr. Snowblower works great so long as you keep it at full throttle and shut the gas off when you shut it off.
And Tom yes the key really is keeping your foot in it. Surprisingly enough that's finesse in these trucks. Not just rookie stuff.
Hey y'all. I've had one hell of a day today. Went 2-3 on for the day my 2 wins were from pins. the team went 5-0 and took home a trophy from the duel meet tourney we went to.
Thanks Lisa. Not that there is ever a "good" time but this really is gonna put the pinch on us I think.
If its an overhead cam you'll need to do the timing belt at the same time.....sure its a gasket and not a cracked head? Some aluminum head motors were infamous for cracking the head if they had any issue that ran them low on coolant.....
the first deer season officially started in Iowa today. Party hunting is legal here ( get your mind out of the gutter guys... it means you can have a group of hunter do drives and all hunt until all licenses are filled). My group this year had 6 people and 8 licenses. We got 6 deer by noon including about a 160 class 10 pointer......I shot 5 of the 6 including the big buck. We did another scouting run and knocked off early. Back out in the morning to finish up.

.
Sounds a lot like a needle valve problem.Could be trash,a bad needle or incorrectly adjusted
Were it a bad needle valve would the flow of fuel stop if I had the bowl off and pressed the float up manually?
The old float had a hole in it and filled with gas so it wouldn't lift and shut off the flow of fuel. I don't know what the issue is with this one but I know I can push the float up with my finger and get the fuel flow to stop.
