Heck yeah, I'm in for building!! I'm in the same boat as Lisa - not too much experience but willing to help & learn. 1500 sq. ft. ...... man, that'd be AWESOME!!
Yep. Willing to bet it would pay for the supplies to build the garage...

I can tell...you're too sly to not have been.
Doing good. Cold out there but not too bad. -4 or -5 or something like that. Had to dig the truck out of a giant drift this morning. Took me a half hour.

-8 here and I haven't even started the truck yet, need to do that and get going.
19 here in Seattle.
For us that's COLD!
Been driving the truck all week because the Z rated tires on the Jetta are completely useless if it's below freezing.
I know, Z rated tires on a car that cannot go that fast, but that is what the car had when I bought it and they feel great at 80 mph.
I might as well be driving on greased pavement.
I hear ya Dan - I think I need to step up to 15" tires so I can get a taller setup & reduce the effective torque at the contact patch. Stupid little 1.9l TDI will spin them on dry pavement if I'm in a hurry.

That's an interesting project.
But why not just go buy a 2006 Passat 4 motion TDI? I don't think the cash outlay would be much different when it's all said and done.

If you can find one of those here in the U.S. or even Canada, you've found a grey-market import. They (stupidly) have never brought a diesel quattro/4motion anything to this side of the pond.
