Jay, I have prolly done 30 of the 3.1L intakes...but there is a huge difference between the intake and head gaskets!
replace the tstat and gasket, clean and lube the orings on the injectors...a little oil works great...the intake bolts only get tightened to 11 ft lbs and the upper plenum get 18 ft lbs...its not a lot...use caution!

the first deer season officially started in Iowa today. Party hunting is legal here ( get your mind out of the gutter guys... it means you can have a group of hunter do drives and all hunt until all licenses are filled). My group this year had 6 people and 8 licenses. We got 6 deer by noon including about a 160 class 10 pointer......I shot 5 of the 6 including the big buck. We did another scouting run and knocked off early. Back out in the morning to finish up.
We must be having a heat wave here. It was 12F when I was out at 8:30.

New toys!! i picked up a year old Dell Precision M4400 this morning!!! This thing is pretty smokin' for a laptop!!! Dual-core 3.06 GHz processor, 4GB of RAM, 64-bit hardware running 64-bit Windows 7 Ultimate, a 500GB hard drive, an SD memory card slot, 1440x900 resolution 15.4" widescreen, and DVD-RW..... yeah, I'm a friggin' geek. But the other cool part is that I scored a set of HPOP lines for Chris (That_Guy) for $20!! Now, if he'd have answered his phone he'd have them in hand be able to fix his truck.... hahaha.
I think it's time for a soak in the tub; not really a bath, since I shower after to get clean, I just like to soak. Maybe I'm part crocodile...

Were it a bad needle valve would the flow of fuel stop if I had the bowl off and pressed the float up manually?
The old float had a hole in it and filled with gas so it wouldn't lift and shut off the flow of fuel. I don't know what the issue is with this one but I know I can push the float up with my finger and get the fuel flow to stop.

Good morning everyone!! hope y'all had a great weekend!! Less than 3 weeks to Christmas... ugh. I'm getting Mom some running boards for her CRV... but they need to be boards, not nerf bars, and those are actually hard(er) to find outside of OEM. Does anybody know the "Ed" equivalent for Honda parts?
OH YEAH.... WE GOT SNOW!!!! Saturday was Logan's 8th birthday and for the 3rd year it was also the first day of snow at Mom's house in MD. Having snow on the ground has MASSIVELY improved my mood!!! I LOVE IT!!! Now I just need to get out and go snowboarding!

Approximately 3" of snow outside. They're calling for a "blizzard watch" tomorrow starting tomorrow afternoon. I don't mind the snow, I just don't particularly like driving in it...dodging all of the Grand Ams spinning out of control.

I want a new laptop but I really cant justify it...I have a 17 in (1440X900)Hp with amd turion 2.0ghz, 4 g ram, vista 64, 250 gb hard drive ( just need a hard drive kit to install the second 250 gb drive) dvd writer, 5 in 1 card reader, and remote...I also have a port replicator with wireless keyboard and mouse.
I guess I could upgrade the processor and get a bluray/dvd writer...
my dream setup...$4500...
