Congrats Jim! Don't sit around waiting for the other foot to drop or dwell on what might happen next. You and J-L enjoy today and make the most of the here and now.
John your new avatar is kinda creepy....I like it!!

Good Morning Lisa! Well, my hair's so high and tight, I can dry off with a napkin after a shower.
Umm, I don't believe you. You wouldn't happen to have pictures as proof would ya?
It's a great job though and I enjoy it.
Whats your favorite part of the job? And why?
I've always been fascinated by law enforcement but never really did anything about it. Had lots of police officer friends, even my old roomie was a detective with Denver PD.

Sheldon, some things just don't revolve around a 9-5 schedule. Unfortunately people like to commit crimes, well, at any time of the day.

Jim- her true colors shined on through. Congrats...and I really hope she gets in some sort of trouble for those false police reports. I mean honestly, with the heartache she has caused...
So I FINALLY got the truck licensed and registered today.
I put my plates on and I got a little chuckle out of my license plate number:
Um yeah, she's an airbus alright. Even makes little jet engine noises.

Hehehe...I see you're throwing the pic thing back on the guys....
My favorite part of the job is the investigative part. There's not a better feeling in this job than solving a crime. Especially when it's one that's taken a long time and a lot of leg work to solve. Burglaries, robberies, stolen vehicles, you name it. It's great to put together a line-up and have several witnesses be able to pick the perp correctly. It's great when you can catch them in the act too. Last year, we caught three guys that were going through WV, KY, VA, and NC breaking into drink machines. We even went to their bank in KY and got surveillance tapes of them coming in with hundreds of dollars in change and cashing it out several different days in a row.
That one was a good one because they were connected to at least twenty break-ins that we know of. They were in the process of leaving one store where they'd just broken in when we got them. I'll take that over writing tickets anyday.

Oh yeah, also, I got my DP tuner today.
Yeah I wasnt getting at having 9-5 shifts. More like have 4 day shifts at a time 12 hour days, give the guys that wanna work nights, nights, and the guys that wanna take the weekend shifts, the weekend shifts!
My cousin in law has some goofy shifts as a rcmp also, and it just seems like it would be simple to have different and make everyone happy!
Congrats on the dp too! Didnt you have a tuner of some sort in there?

don't believe him Lisa.
all cops say that.
but in secret, the favorite part of a cops job is speeding down the road with lights on and siren blaring, so you can get to the dunkin donuts before anyone else.
my favorite part of the job during the 8 years i was on the force was being able to help people.
the worst part was having to arrest the otherwise good folks that had a momentary lapse of good judgment and did something really really stupid.
