My buddy just picked up a huge elk bow hunting. He said it was really scary getting that close to the animal, hearing it breath and be all pissed off. He was pretty excited about the whole thing.

Elk are neat animals...and you really have no idea how massive they are until you are directly in front of one. How many points?

I got my buck 2yrs ago with a 45# recurve bow. 8pt, 148lbs and boy is it a rush when you get close. nuthin like it.

Elk are really neat, we have moose around here though. One nice little bull walked right through my yard the other day, I mean like ten feet away from my bedroom window, it was awesome!

In stark contrast, most bull elk are around 700-800 lbs. One we came across a few years ago was easily 320+ pts, we were within 30 yards, and they are massive.
Moose are awesome. I've seen a few bulls but none of them were big, just babies. Sheldon do you still have that pic you took of the moose in your driveway?

That would be really huge within 30 yards! Ive found it pretty rare to get that close to the monster ones, specially while hunting! When you have no tag, or no gun, well you cang et close to em all the time haha.
