The class I took online was from a certified NRA instructor. VA just passed a law in July that recognizes those internet classes as being accepted across the state. You don't have to hold or shoot a firearm to get a CC in VA...obviously! If you go to a class physically, then things might be a little different. My total license cost was 89 bucks. 39 for the class and 50 for the state/local govt.
grrr... thats the one thing i hate about this state... theyre always changing the regs for things... think ya got a little ripped off for the class though... out here theyre only $10 if you take them at the range.. (some of them still offer for 5) and they were taught by a NRA instructor as well... but when i looked last month it was still 15 for the application submission fees.. (for here) ive got to send in my renewal this December for mine... they say 60 days before.. im sending mine 90 just to be on the safe side...
hmm didnt know about the money thing.. prolly cuz most the people id heard it from where just ordinary people wanting the right to carry... and only reason i was asking into maryland is cuz i do a bit of traveling through there and wanted to be able to carry through there legally... cuz i can carry in all the other states since the reciprocate my states license when i head back home...
nahh shes definately the evil one... dont care much for her anymore.... and no we werent together... just an ex-friend
Yea its very rare to have one here in MD. I might try when Im 21 though. I figure I know a few people that might be able to help me out and I can use my job as an excuse. So MD wont let you carry through the state?
I saved about 25 bucks by taking it online compared to places around here. The local gun show offers them for 50 bucks, but there are too many people in those and only comes like 3x a year. I chose to sit in my own home and watch the 2 hour video, take the test, and be done with it! We didnt get fingerprinted either...just had to give a picture with the application. http://concealed-carry.net/faq.php
Thats the site where I took the class!
Chris
MD straight prohibits open carry and concealed licenses are given, but on a discretionary basis only and they do not recognize any other states permits.

if i got approved for a non-resident permit i could... but after talking to several guys there it just wasnt worth the hassle... just easier to pop the clip out... and pop it back in when im through the state... (which at most is 10 minutes..)... i enter the state at the top of the hill and exit at the bottom... and vice versa depending whether im heading north or south...

weird... classes must have really gone up since i applied for mine 5 yrs ago... when i went through they said i could keep using my original certification every yr.. all i have to do is photo the original and send in the copy... the way the guy told us.. so long as you never lose the original classes certification youll never have to retake the class..
ill have to look at that later... bouncing between here and the tv downstairs lol..
I got the call late this afternoon and no job for Jim. They gave it to the other person that was in the running for it. I was told that it was one of the toughest decisions that they have ever had to make in reguards to hiring someone. I have a feeling that it was because of my electricians license and my divisified background that they felt that when the economy got better I may up and go elsewhere. Even though I told them otherwise. They also asked if I would mind if they kept my resume on file so that if a need arise in the future they could call me. So back to the search.

So sorry to see this Jim, I was pulling for you. Good luck on your continued search, you'll find something I'm sure.
I've all but given up hope of finding a job until spring. something may come up before winter, but I doubt it.

Man I really am sorry about this one. I though you had it. At least if something comes up in the future with them you will be the first one they call.
