The DOT# is easy and don't cost anything, you can get it on the internet
I still have my number from when I was in the trucking business. I'm gonna put mine on a magnetic sign
The trailers also have to be inspected. That may get to be a might expencive,I have 5 trailers (think I need to cut back some)
I am looking for a 16' or larger enclosed I thought the DOT charges in MA for them

Well kiddies, 5 a.m. comes early and I am still suffering from jet lag from yesterday, I actually took a nap in my truck over lunch. I best be gettin to bed!

WTF? Really? My truck weighs just over 8,000lbs EMPTY with about 1/2 a tank of fuel. Add a small trailer and a few quads to the mix, and you're right I'm easily over 10K....I've never had any problems in the past.
Not many people had a problem til this year
Think it really depends on the mood of the DOT officer and if he needs to make up on some revenue
Well if I hear anything else I'll letcha know. Electrician jobs pop up on the railroad all the time, and its a pretty good gig if you ask me. Good pay, good bennies, predictable hours..you'd have to beef up on your RR knowledge and terminology though, they expect you to know all that stuff.
Naw.....I know that couldn't have been you. I've seen that before. It's my ex-mother-in-law and her butt cheeks drag the ground when she rides...
She must have a pretty hot butt, John. Friction with the road surface can do that.
I've known a few lowbedders who weren't thinking and they went and grabbed a chain that was dragging on the road bare-handed and ended up with pretty severe burns.

Yea I did kinda sorta one of them once.Early one morning before daylight I was traveling the back roads from Tampa to South Fla (this was before I-75 existed)with a bad hangover pulling my 18 ft equipment trailer.I got a feeling something wasn't right and rolled down the window to hear something dragging, was one of my ramps.
I stopped and went to fix it.I reached down and grabbed the ramp to lift it.yea that wasn't smart but it woke me up
Things are going ok. I've got a new teacher for government (my history class this year) and he already assigned two research papers. Plus I'm gonna have another later this year from my English teacher.
So school is going way too busy.
I've got to do so much stuff before snow flies here and they're just adding to that list.
I've got to figure out a way to keep the plow from snagging my extension cord for my block heater as well as a way to keep the end relatively snow-free.
Then I've got to finish re-laying the front sidewalk here at home.
Then dad and I have to get the plow truck together. Gotta put in a new rear end, put the flatbed on, and install the plow on it at the very least. I'd like to repaint the flatbed, replace the fenders, get the cab repainted, and install a strobe bar.
Oh and I'm still working on getting some firewood cut and split so I don't freeze to death this winter. The shop's got a wood heater. I was going to cut and split some wood today, but the access way to my wood pile had two trees on it because someone pushed them there with a dozer. So now I've got to cut my way through them before I can get to the wood I wanted in the first place. I could go and get the excavator and move them, but they've got to get cut up eventually so I may as well do it now. Good thing I've got access to an MS460 with a nice long bar on it.
And that sounds pretty painful, Ray. I always make an effort to keep at least one pair of gloves in every truck so I don't need to touch chains with bare hands if they were dragging at all.
