That's about how easy it is up here... some towns it looks like a license, but mine was a scrap of paper. I had to laminate it myself.

Only concealed weapon I carry is in my pants!

I got asked one time by a police officer (in my younger "brighter"days) if I had a concealed weapon on me. I told him yes, I have a bazooka in my pants. I thought it was funny as hell, but he didnt think so! No ticket or anything though! (even though we should have gotten one, open liquor in the vehicle, and had ten minors stuff inside the cab of a 81 pontiac grand prix two door, WITH bucket from seats haha)

Oh those were the days!

LMAO.... I'm on probation right now for getting mouthy with a cop. He gave me a speeding ticket and points on my license for 'disrespect.' What pissed me off most, was he was wrong! All because I (legally) had my weapon in the car and didn't declare it.

Ah that sucks eh! I dont throw out random bits of mouthiness to police officers anymore like I used to. I used to have attitude towards them, but that has calmed down over the years. Now I only bring out my mouth to them when needed

I actually didnt know they could deduct points off a persons license for disrespect. If that was the case up here, I would have been banned from ever having a license from the age of 16 haha.

WI is one of the 2 stats that dont issue conceald carry permits... they do allow open carry but concealed is not permitted there.... its very restricted there for carrying..

Yeah... but here is the fun part. Because I have a carry permit I can keep my weapon loaded in the car, and I don't have to declare it. The convo went something like this:
Cop: Is that a weapon on your seat?
Me (hands on wheel, not moving): Yes sir
Cop: Do you have a permit for that?
Me: yes sir
Cop: Is it loaded?
Me: Yes sir
Cop:First off, why do have a loaded gun within reach?
Me: Because it is my right. Why would I carry a gun that isn't loaded??
Cop: are you getting mouthy???
Me: No sir
Cop: Second... You are supposed to tell me the SECOND I get to the vehicle that you have a gun!
Me: Sir, I don't need to tell you. It's my right. And SECOND, if the first words out of my mouth are, 'I have a gun' you'd sure as shyte pull yours on me... and let me tell you, I shoot back.
Cop: I've had enough of your mouth. 2 points... with the speeding ticket...
...
And now I'm on probation

Forgive me for chuckling Alicia, cause the end result isnt funny, but the conversation between you guys kinda was! I gotta hand it to ya though, it sounds like you were very polite.

I always call the officer by their last name MR/Mrs "blah blah". That way I can remember it if need be.

You know, you could always go meet up with him in court... thats another right that could get those two points yanked right off IF you won

Sir, you are correct. There are 7 states and DC that do not allow open carry except under certain permissions. It is impossible to fully ban it.

WI is not one of those states.

Really it is funny. I laugh at it now. I did go to court. When I checked in with the court the woman at the desk says... oh you got officer so and so... he's a real big *******. You sure you want to fight it??
strike one against me. He didn't take the points off, but knocked the price of the ticket from $358 to $230.... Thats all I gained. LMAO

i would look again cuz theres way more than 7... (22 to be exact) and some states have banned it... 2nd amendment gives you the right to own.. not carry... and really you can thank the voters for instituting the laws that have regulated the open carrys outta most those states...
