they do have a couple automotive exceptions.. but theyre regulating where you have to have it stored for the transportation... and one of them has a stipulation for carry licence for the location..

Lisa, for what it's worth, may I suggest reading the book of Ecclesiastes.
It was written by someone who has been there, done that, went from loving life to hating life, and everything in between.
He had the freedom to do whatever he wanted because of his seemingly limitless wealth.

And in keeping with the rules of this forum, I will offer no more debate on this. (Unless someone wants to start one in the Club. )
It's just been good reading for me in the past.

Most states have that.
You can transport the gun if you're going hunting or to the range...
In Maine if you don't have a permit you can carry in your vehicle if it is not loaded and it is not within reach AND it is not concealed.. like in the trunk.

If you do have a permit you can have it loaded in your vehicle anywhere.

yup virginias like that... no permit it cant be loaded... Magazine and gun itself cant be stored in the same area of the vehicle without carry permitt.. and neither one can be in easy reach of each other... so if you have the magazine in the glove box the gun has to be in the trunk of the car.. and if its in the trunk it must be in a secure lock box... but they do have an exception here too... if you have a lock box in the trunk you can store both the gun and magazine together there.. but they cant be connected to each other... so the magazine has to be ejected from the gun when its stored there...

to me that just defeats the purpose of having one... why i have my permit so i can keep it loaded and near me..

I needed a state certified birth cert to get the ID card and that shoud be here soon
The Ga permit is a lot easier to get than Fla or NC.No classes to take

I meant a trunk is a place it's considered concealed... It was poorly worded and I apologize.

You can have it in the backseat, on the floor if the driver can not reach it, behind a seat in a truck or passenger side floor...

agreed... some states are harder to get than others... TX has a VERY!!! long list of requirements before you can get one there... va was pretty easy... took a class... filled out the paperwork.... got sworn in and then waited for it arrive...

i did have to get mine fixed though... they made a typo on mine so i had to go to the courthouse to get it fixed... but meh.. it happens...

Colorado is pretty much the same way. They are very picky about weapons when in transport.

Here in IA, good luck getting a CC, especially where i live. Individual Sheriffs for each county give the OK for CCs, and some of them simply don't...

Thats awesome! Last ticket I got was two years ago for speeding in the BC mountains. I was on my way to work in edmonton (13ish hours from my home) and I wanted to get there fast haha.

Before that my ticket was actually a dui when I was 18 or 19, then before that I had a TON of them. Thats the price ya pay for having fairly quick v8 cars, and a mouth on ya haha.

I drive a truck so they omitted the trunk
I carry the gun in the glove box a loaded clip in the consul and a box of ammo behind the rear seat.Probly not legal but that's life.
Fla is a real pain to get a permit not sure how bad NC is.Ga just an ID proof of residence to get it like a utiliy bill
Since I have Fla driver licence and tags couldn't use those
