Part V
Mom is pissed because the owner wouldnt hire anymore help to keep a lookout on the 15,000sq ft area. Insurance will cover the nearly $20,000 loss but she is outta business now that gold is nearly 1000.00 an ounce. She couldnt possibly replace the stuff she bought at 600.00 an ounce. I think this might make her go back to smoking the way she sounded on the phone. I think they even got the ONLY ring I had in there for her to sell.
The manager keeps calling her with updates but needless to say shes goin up there today to talk to the police and get the rest of her stuff they left. Fingerprints...glass case...I can only imagine how many are on there...
I hate a damn thief!
Update...
144 rings were taken. Dad knows right now 35 were his. No necklaces or anything else, just rings.
Buy your plane ticket to Bradley International and I'll pick you up there. Just wait til summer so the ground has a chance to thaw out and dry up.
I forgot some stuff in the last list:
WHO tub grinder. 400hp CAT engine. In the process of getting it working. Have its twin as a donor machine.
Ford 6610 tractor w/cab and Tiger over the rail mower (to be sold soon)
Ford 5610 with mid mount flail mower
Ford 2120 with loader frame.
Looking to buy: Ford 7.3 plow truck, Elgin Pelican street sweeper, Ford/International single axle pow truck with in-box spreader system.

That's a very versatile setup, Sheldon. If I had that setup my next investment after that would be a small dozer. D4 sized or so. That way you can do more fine grading work to finish up what you started with the backhoe.

Luckily its just a hobby that the do now theyre retired and not how they make their paycheck! I really feel for any family owned, local jewelry stores that get robbed. Its totally like a punch to the gut when it happens and of course insurance makes it a little better, but still! I only got one ring stolen and it pissed me off. I cant imagine how my parents are feeling!

EDIT: That reminds me: I grabbed some Taco Bell today when I had to run out for some supplies for re-caulking my daughter's tub. One of the tiles came loose, so I had to run out for some grout. Plus, some of the other tiles needed a little grout added. Anyway, I start to pay the lady at the Taco Bell counter, and she says "Nice Hat!". I'm wearing my PowerStroke hat as well. I said "You like PowerStrokes??", she says "Not really, I just like the hat".
Lisa- sounds like so much fun, I love those little "quickies" around the block!!! I used to do that on my CR125 back in the day. I need to convince Julie to let me get a quad. Thats going to be tough after the crash last summer though.
Real nice rims on a little Geo
Lincoln navigator all tricked out.
We also saw a GASSER Chevy 2500 with a big azz exhaust pipe and gauges.
