You bet Brad, a flattie with a supercharger would be neat, but I am going after a truck in the end that I can take on a 5-6 hour drive if i need too haha.
Not that I would want to with a 460 done up a little either, i would have to borrow 20 bucks from each of my buds in here just for gas!!
you now never thought of myself as a rail fan but I guess I kinda am.Grew up with it close by and just never thought about it ,but I will stop and watch one go by if I get a chance.
There are people that are REALLY into it. They plan vacations around it. I am not that extreme but I do like to watch for them and will make a detour on a road trip if there is a famous rail crossing or landmark close by. The coolest thing that ever happened to me train related was seeing a UP DDA40X, road number 6936 rolling down the tracks along Highway 75, just north of Willis, TX. I almost ran off the road. The DDA40X is the largest diesel locomtove ever built. It's a monster and there is only one DDA40X on the rails still and I saw it. Didn't have a camera with me though....rats!
This is a DDA40X that is in Cody Park in North Platte, NE.
I just did and got this from wife that was sleeping on the couch.

Cool story Scott, that is a big @$$ train.there is about a five mine stretch south of town that hwy61 runs right along the tracks down through the bottom fields and its fun to pace the trains to see how fast there going.65 was the fastest they don't have to slow down for a long way,so they turn them loose.
Thanks Jay, Sheldon and everyone else! Sheldon, info on the Lanz Bulldog: semi diesel engine, damn reliable, takes about 10-20 minutes to start even worse in cold weather, burns any type of unrefined fuel IE:diesel fuel, cooking oil, waste engine oil, and fuel oil.

The lanz Im pretty sure my grandpa bought brand new, and Im not 100 percent sure where my uncle got the rumley from, he has two of them though, and he has another lanz kicking around for parts.
Also in the first pic if ya look close, you can see a few of his other tractors sitting there too.
